I have a feeling the stock shifter will he just fine for me too.
It is the best stock shifter that I have come across i my 55 years of rowing the gears. Is the quality as good as the MGW? No of course not. It was not a matter of money for me when I did the FSA. I am sure I would have gotten used to the push down for reverse feature with the MGW but someday my wife might want to drive this car so I am sticking with the stock shifter. The stock shifter is great for street use.

My son and I are going to Mid-Ohio May 9th & 10th for the NORPCA Spring event ! Going to have a super fun time putting that baby thru the paces and learning what it's capable of.
Then I'll be buying wheels, tires, shifter, exhaust, cold air kit...…..

Some of you guys seem to have some pretty good dealerships. I was automatically assigned a service advisor when I made my online appointment. I tried contacting him by phone to verify parts availability, no call back yet. I checked with another dealer about coordinating to have my service performed while I wait (which I've seen other members do) at least a month from now. My answer was a resounding NO. I was told it's job that takes a long time to do. On a bright note the weather down here has been great. Low 50's in the mornings and low/mid 70's in the afternoon. I've definitely been taking advantage.

Ford gives their techs 1 hour labor to do this job. There is another hour to let the treadlock setup on the shift knob.

I've seen the same. I think I'm gonna keep searching. I've got about 5 to choose from within 30 minutes of my house

Does anybody that had this done can help me with the list of all parts needed? By reading the SA instructions I was able to put a list (below).

Gear shift assembly: FR3Z-7210-G
Bracket nuts (x2): -W520101-S440
Shift lever bolt: -W715200-S437
Driveshaft bolt (x4): -N800594-S101

Is this accurate and complete?
Thanks!

Here is the Ford list of parts needed from the FSA.
Cool! So it is pretty much my list plus the knob and that threaded pin which I could not find :) That is smart since very few people have the patience to remove the knob in one piece with the amount of thread locker they put on. Mine was a total bear to do with a strap wrench and all.

Thanks a lot!

Now, where do I find a dealer that will let me do it myself? Anybody else successful with that?

Well I bit the Bullet , made the appointment and had my shifter (FSA 19B34) done on my new car.
The dealership gave me a 2020 Escape to drive and all that it cost me was $2.00 in gas and one
sleepless night as my GT-350 spent the night in the service bay at the dealership, The following
morning I returned and picked up my car. "Everything went well" said the service manager, your
car was the first one the "Tech" has done ! OK. Signed the paperwork and went on my way.
I got about 1/4 mile down the road, downshifted for the round about, and then it happened.
A loud buzzing noise filled the interior of the car, the drivers seat felt like one of those vibrating
massage seats. I shut the car off an coasted in to a Sunoco station, popped the hood and checked the oil.
Everything good there, started it up and back to the dealer. Pulled back into the service bay, and it
went back on the "Rack". One hour later they found one of the aluminum bushings from the original shifter
had fallen out and had fallen down, wedging itself between the transmission mount and the transmission.
The service "Tech" said "I wondered where that thing went, glad that we found it because that has to go back to Ford"
Oh brother. Took my car home and cleaned the floor mats, now the dealer needs to clean the passenger seat
also as White grease is now on that seat.....I'll be standing there watching.....

Thanks for sharing your horror story and my worst fear. I finally got called from my dealer today Friday April 17 that my parts arrived and they want me set up an appointment to drop it off. I'm really not looking forward to it. Not only that somewhere along the way either the first hand car wash or the detailer managed to put a chip on the hood. You guessed it, someone tried lifting the driver side wiper arm and caught the hood. Marred up the arm too. I hate to sound whiny, but it took me years to get one and it was perfect when I bought it. I'd touch it up, but the PPF was applied over the chip. First world problem, but still.

I hear your concerns. I have both 2019 and 2020 MT ‘stangs that shift just fine and are not going into any dealership bay as long as the car gods allow it. I had a 2008 Bullitt that was my garage queen for 12 years and let her go after purchasing my 2020. I never followed through with the airbag recall. I still get notifications in the mail that I am risk of getting my face rearranged in a less than satisfactory manner. LOL

All the best on your dealership experience.

After seeing what they going to do inside and out of my GT350, I'm NOT going to replace shifter at dealership until it's broken. When and if it's broken, I'll replace it with MGW shifter.
