Not that I ever thought he was a great actor or anything, but he was entertaining in some past movies.

Either he's unaware of what is really going on, or he decided he wanted to lie to the public for political gain.

Whichever is true, I have no respect for the guy any more. Just take your little award and go away. I wasn't trying actively to avoid Brad Pitt movies in the past, but I really have no interest now.

So the party with Socialist in their name were not Socialist? How about the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics? Were they Socialist or a Republic?

What did Hitler do that Stalin did not, other that say he hated communists? I think most people agree that Russia is a socialist country.

Define socialist. You could argue that communism, socialism, republic, and democracy are all meaningless terms as none of their so called Champions live up to them. Like when has a Workers Party every really put the workers in charge? Left and Right, liberal and conservative are even more useless terms.
The NSDAP was not socialist, no matter how hard you want to believe so. Germany was not laissez-faire economics but the most essential components of capitalism were not touched. The private property remained legal, capitalists remained free to hire and fire workers and keep the surplus-value of their labor. Industrial capitalists and arms producers actually benefited from state intervention and eventually benefitted from free slave labor proved by soviet POWs and concentration camp inmates. On the other hand, fascism was most beneficial for the industrialists, landlords and to an extent the bourgeoisie.

Socialism in the most basic definition is a political ideology and economic program concerned with giving the working class ownership of the means of production. You don't seem to understand the historical context of either socialism or fascism. Socialism was a movement of the workers while fascism was a movement of the middle class made militant by socialist revolutionaries on one side and the perceived failures of the bourgeois democracy on the other in the context of Nazi Germany.

You seem to think fascism is another form of socialism. Explain to me why is it that fascist movements gained the support of the most reactionary and right-wing element of their respective countries? I'm talking about people and classes that were naturally opposed to any kind of socialism I.E. landlords, industrialists, the church and the nobility.

LMAO! You really need to learn world history. Hitler was totally against the notion of equality and wanted to wage war on Marx's idea of such. You fall into a common trap of using twenty first century American politics and norms and transpose those into a different context. Policies may look like left wing socialism from the vantage point of the 2020 US political scene, but had very different meanings in 1937 Germany, Hitler was nowhere even close to Germanys left during that time.

Most of the NSDAPs left wing faction was expelled in the Bamberg Conference and any remaining were either executed in 1934 or forced to tow party line.
Ah yes, because the NAZIs were totally for small government and had no intentions in interfering with people's liberties. NAZIs didn't increase government spending on social programs of any sort./s

Are you politically illiterate, is this how obtuse people are to history now? Do you need to me explain even more so how Hitler was not a socialist?

In plane English, Hitler gave government more power. That's what socialism is; the government controls things. It doesn't matter if Hitler hated Marx's IDEAS. It matters that he ACTED in the same manner. I think leftists just hate that Hitler was a socialist because it makes them look bad.

You're clueless and ignorant. The word privatization was coined to describe a central tenet of Nazi economic policy.

The entire goal was to latch onto a popular political movement and redefine it to fit their needs. They did not support worker ownership of the means of production and the right for workers to work for themselves. Hitler repealed legislation that nationalized industry in Germany and oversaw the expansion of private industry; they sent socialists to concentration camps.

"There are only two possibilities in Germany; do not imagine that the people will forever go with the middle party, the party of compromises; one day it will turn to those who have most consistently foretold the coming ruin and have sought to dissociate themselves from it. And that party is the left: and then god help us! For it will us to complete destruction - to Bolshevism, or else it is a party of the Right which at last, when the people are in utter despair, when it has lost all its spirit and has no longer any faith in anything, is determined for its part ruthlessly to seize the reins of power - that is beginning of resistance of which I spoke a few minutes ago" - https://web.viu.ca/davies/H479B.Imperialism.Nationalism/Hitler.speech.April1921.htm

That's Hitler explaining to clueless political illiterates like you that he vehemently opposes the left and believes only rightists like himself can make Germany great again. How low IQ must you be to argue that you can be socialist while having privatization which is capitalism, lmao

I'm not reading all that because you still don't understand that actions speak louder than words. It doesn't matter what he said. His actions matter more.

No, you just don't understand political and economic theory, apparently high school level history and economics was difficult for you.

Hitler: Privatizers steel, mining, banking, public utilities, railways, etc

Dumbasses: Nazi Germany was socialists!

You're the dumbass using words over actions.

Lmao, glorified supply/transportation can't understand basic economics and politics. You don't even know the political or economic compass that is liberalism and authoritarianism these are basic things people learn in like 7th grade. Nazis would be an almost totally authoritarian and moderate conservative.

Nazi's executed communists and utterly abhorred liberalism in all it's forms. Nazism is always referred to as extreme right-wing ideology, for good reason. The anti-communist sentiment is written in the fucking Mein Kampf. There was nothing socialist about Hitler. For a policy to be socialist it must first lean socially left otherwise it is merely authoritarian. Being economically liberal means the exact same thing as being fiscally conservative.

No matter how far you read into it, nazis were right-wing conservatives. National born Aryans being nearly worshiped and all forms of liberalism being demonized, that's the fundamental principle of political conservatism.

Socialism is the workers owning the means of production and managing themselves, you can't change the definition of something because it fits your delusional narrative better.

Not when people don’t know what they’re taking about. It’s simple, I speak on things I understand and if I don’t understand I listen to people that do.

Notice how I ask for mechanical help and not correct people elsewhere on the forums because believe it or not there are plenty of things outside of economics and politics I do not know.

Is that what you tell yourself so your left ideas fit in reality? Because if you were right, I'd be unemployed right now; if I was that dumb. But I'm not. Go move to an inferior country like Canada and enjoy your Ecoboost since government enforcement is such a good thing. NAZI. I'll enjoy my liberties and GT.

Read any history book or ask any historian or prominent political or economic expert, only the delusional few with their rightwing parallel universe and falsification of history can believe such an idiotic claim. Imagine believing that the Nazi's love for private property and entrepreneurship made them socialists. Turns out, public health and public transportation do not, in fact, make you socialist. It turns out you can not have private individuals and enterprises owning the means of production in a socialistic country, but hey the world is full of idiots who can't even comprehend simple terms.

"The claim that the Nazis actually were leftists or socialists in any generally accepted sense of those terms flies in the face of historical reality."

I did. I was only told what Hitler said instead of what he actually did. Much like you're doing. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. For the sake of this arguement, I don't give a FUCK what he said. He was an awful man who used SOCIALIST policies (increase schools, roads, took control of private enterprise, stupid high taxes, robbing Jews of their gold, etc) while the people were helpless against the Gastopo.
