Something may be off with your bypass valve. I have the stage one Eddy calibration and I hit boost pretty early now that I took the pill out. I haven't logged throttle percentage but it instantly hits 2lbs with just a quick stab of the throttle, I would guess around 25-30%. Stage 2 should be more.

Crazy, but it seems to be better with the pill in.

The surge will never go away no matter what pill you have in there. It's just in the tune. I am lucky enough to live close to a very reputable dyno tuner for Mustangs, and he walked me through everything he did to make my car "right." The long and short is they didn't do a good job with their torque tables, and the car gets confused (paraphrasing). The only way to fix it, unfortunately, is to have somebody put a real tune on it. And now it feels fantastic. Transition to boost is VERY predictable.

I'd personally go Lund if doing a remote tune because I've heard from at least 3 people that PBD had trouble tuning out a similar (but lesser) surge and stopped responding after X attempts at fixing it.

I'm with @BlueCollarDaily with the jets. I tried a bazillion combinations, from the .015 it came with to a .050. Anything above .045 is silly because it's like there isn't a jet there at all. A .035 works well for a weekend driver with an aggressive foot. I landed on a .025 because it just feels the best to me in transition and keeps it from slipping out of boost too easily during slight letoff. If you're going to start trying a bunch, just go to an autoparts store and get a length of tube so you don't have to fish the daggon thing out each time.

Thanks for the input. I already have a new piece of vacuum hose to use. I just need to get some different sized jets.

That's exactly what I did just went and got a few feet of hose and more I think about it the more I think I was wrong it wasnt the .035 it was a .030 as I revised earlier which would seem to be VERY similar to where you landed.
To me that means we come to similar conclusions and we both see 2 psi fairly early into the throttle angle SO that tells me his bypass isnt working right...its closing WAY late....

What does your instrument cluster say your idle vacuum is cold and hot......leave it on that and everytime you stab it 20% or so like a brisk drive off that should go 0 stay there a second then come back...you certainly shouldn't have to be 90% to see boost.....
If I hit my car 90% even rolling 35 I'd be facing the other direction in half a second hehe.....

I won't speak to the stage 1 tune ( but the 93 ain't bad on stage 2 and I've ran the stage 1 91 and 93, stage 2 91 and 93 and Dakota Lund......while I was putting the 920 miles on the second engine I was able to enjoy no WOT driving on the 93 stage 2 tune....Lund has a bag of tricks up their sleeves but had I not blown a bunch of engines I wouldn't have spent the extra 1000 on ngauge and lund tune its not a huge difference just gave me best chance to focus on MY car and why its blowing on the 2-3 but it didnt on the 3.75 on either tune...2nd gear leave is smooth as pie though)
I guess I'm conflicted because I didnt like stage 1 91 or 93 because imho they should have the stage 2 trans modifications on that too...but the 93 stage 2 seemed to be just fine to me.....the boost is to much though....
At the end of the day no one can do as good as Lund and hope you get Dakota he is the best....especially for surge....he will smooth like butter for you....however before I did that, I'd make dang sure your bypass is working right...cause you might need to send it in...heck you can get a cheap cheap manual boost gauge and T it in if you need to temporarily to see what it's doing......
Best of luck....if you decide to tune go Lund and use that 3.75 you won't have another issue it's a tremendous blower system for a daily....

I have an EcoBoost boost gauge so I can see boost when driving even though it’s not mechanical. With the tune reloaded to fix the TB and the pill in, I’m seeing about 2 psi at just a stab of the throttle. Much better than before. I’ll probably experiment with different pill sizes before going with Lund. Thanks for all the great input.

Simple plug and play for PP gauge cluster. Just remove trim panel, disconnect wiring harness and remove gauge cluster from trim panel. Works like stock to include MyColor, etc.

Oh nice I have a 400a but not a PP CAR :(
I guess I'm stuck with a gauge pop ect or the boost box hooked to the Ngauge..

Update #4: I’ve made the transition to a Lund tune and it’s transformed the car. Dakota has been amazing to work with and extremely responsive. I’ve done about 4 sets of data logging and the tune is spot on.

This is with a 3.75” blower pulley, 93 octane (91 + Boostane) and using a .026 nitrous pill. Surging is gone and it flat moves out even at part throttle. Shifts are much firmer now in Drive mode.

I’m bringing it into a shop on Tuesday for the OPG/CS install and some dyno pulls. I’ll post numbers next week.

I just received my base tune from Dakota. Good to hear your positive results.
