Dealer confirmed the price with me $8900 out the door with oil change and coolant included.
I think this is a pretty good price, 2 days and I have the car back...

But I can save another $400 if I order it through a vendor, save out of state tax
So $8500 out the door...

Oh brother, I so wanna go Roush....
So many haters...

The Roush Phase 1 installed would be $8400
The Edelbrock Stage 1 installed would be $8950
The Edelbrock Stage 2 installed would be $10,700

All warrantied 3yr/36K
My car has 700 miles on it

Labor costs here in Minneapolis must be a LOT higher than most other places. $160+ per hour is the norm. One dealer is $190. They will cut me a little break on a SC install but I am still looking at well over $2000. That is for a Whipple which requires replacing the stock fuel pump but I am not sure how much more time that takes.

If you go EB, you better figure on another $1000 for custom tuning and no warranty!

Looks like the same can be said for Whipple. Another Whippled Gen 5 goes to FiveBar to get a blown motor replaced.

There have been some piston failures with Whipple cars....more than I like to see. There have also been some cylinder scoring issues on cars with no mods.

You can datalog with Whipple tuner. A good installer will log the car after installation and make sure parameters are safe. The log can be sent to Whipple if a tweak is needed. I suspect some failures occur due to insufficient fuel octane or quality and spark knock is the result. Sometimes, timing needs backed off or a/f needs adjusted.

I have followed the guy in the video. His car was running too lean. He should have had that corrected instead of just making videos.

My point about the EB tune had nothing to do with safety. There are too many reports of stalling, poor idle and surging to ignore. Maybe they are better now....

As I have said before, once the installation is done and the tune is loaded, a good tech will run a log to check engine parameters for safety. The Tomahawk tuner that comes will the Whipple kit will do datalogging. Having said that, anytime you add a couple hundred HP to the stock engine, you are adding some stress. There has to be the right balance of octane, A/F ratio, boost and timing.

If one really wants safety, they will remain stock or get a tune from a reputable company and stay NA. Some people would say it is crazy to spend $10,000 for a supercharger installation, lose their 5 year powertrain warranty and possibly degrade the overall drivability of their otherwise nice driving high 11 to low 12 second stock car.
