First let me start off by saying yes I am glad that it seems that more people are taking their built Vehicles to the track. However on YouTube I've noticed a lack old school Mustang videos. Here's what I me. You remember when people used to do flybys with their cobras, turbocharged Mustang, he'll even Supra videos. Or people did a lot of videos on their speedometers. You don't see that too much anymore with these new cars. Everyone has 15-20 minutes of commentary before they get to five minutes of running the vehicle. Everybody wants to be on a dyno. Everybody wants to be out of drag strip. I kind of miss the videos of a car and it's natural environments just blasting the doors off another vehicle. Who else is noticed this change

It's pretty easy to explain. In the early days of YouTube it was the wild west with complete amateur enthusiasts uploading videos on their built cars.

Now people make a living on YouTube and for the vast majority of watchers the personality of the "vlogger" is equal to or more important than the vehicle they are driving.

Just like on tv, YouTubers need to portray a fantasy where in they are surrounded by friends 100% of the time street racing their amazing cars on the freeway and nothing goes wrong ever. And when it does go wrong it's probably staged anyway.

Also add in the fact that you are showing a felony when racing someone on the road. Even a speedo shot will get you some unwanted attention if it goes viral.

All these you tubers always say it’s filmed in Mexico but I am skeptical.

I can’t wait till AI deepfakes become a thing. Then all video and pictures can be denied. Nope wasn’t me with 3 strippers in the car racing a Lambo. It wasn’t me.

To add to this. Your average person will be more hesitant to upload a single video of their nice car because it'll quickly get flushed away in the sea of clickbait titles.
