Congrats! I used to live around your neck of the woods in a previous life. Is that Latham Ford?

We all followed your long wait. And with that chassis number it was indeed a very very long wait. To the best of you knowledge could you give us the short version of what happened to your car and why it took so very very long????

Chassis number is K0670.
How does the paint look after such a long time sitting outside?

I bought an FX4 that had sat in the dealer lot for almost a year and the rain etched the paint. Of course it sat in the Georgia sun (I know, we have the same sun) and it was in the Atlanta Hartsfield flight line.

Beautiful car and great color combination; I ordered the same!

Hey, I see you are in Mountain View, CA... I'm in San Jose. If you are looking for a close one, I got pinged my Morgan Hill Ford this Saturday that they had a Magnetic GT350R that the person who ordered it backed out, its on their lot now for MSRP. If thats your color, I would jump on it as in CA, finding one for MSRP is really hard.

With that said, I've been waiting on one I ordered in AZ that got stuck for some reason at the Rail Yard since 5/20. Dealer has been trying to get more info, but they've only been told it was on "Ship Hold", and no ETA. It was built on 4/11. I checked the Ford Inventory search and found almost 35x Rs within 100 miles of our Zip code. So I emailed all the dealers that had Red or Blue Rs as that was my primaries. I ended up picking one up on Saturday!!! For the same deal I had with the AZ dealer - I think having the offer, deposit down, and VIN helped to get the price match, I didnt even have to negotiate, just fwd them my offer letter. Could not be happier! Unfortunately, I picked up on Saturday, got about 130 break-in miles, and then flew overseas for work for a week. So I got a taste, but need to wait a little bit longer. ;)

I ended up with Performance Blue (vs my order of Velocity). Both Blues were #1 on my list, and I'm super happy with Performance Blue. I got a pic of it in the sun, and one from the showroom, the color does really darken out a bit in the shade, and looks more like Lightning Blue in the sun which is perfect for me!

Good luck with the search, and as I found, more and more are showing up on lots with folks backing out - my guess is the wait was too long, or the GT500 is causing them to re-think. I think by end of year, if you don't care about Color, you can get under MSRP for sure. Just a gamble.

Oh yeah, this one was built in the first week of May, 1 month after my original order was built, and arrived at the dealer just this last week. The photo in the show room actually still has the shipping spacers on it, that they took off before I got to the dealership for my test drive. ;)

So maybe something wrong with my original ordered R, or that week/day had a quality issue that they put it on Ship Hold for almost 2 months. I would check the built dates, I feel like anything later is better, but thats just a gut feel. Similar to 2018, where I believe ones built after Feb had a rear bumper sag bracket installed before leaving the factory (IIRC).
