Painted on stripes 10k

really? wow.. I figured that would be part of the 10K.

Yeah, for 10k all the stripes should be painted. I dont think Ford really wants to do it at all but figures if you are crazy enough to pay 10k what the hell.

I ordered mine with painted stripes, performance blue with oxford white stripes. I didn't want to deal with finding someone to paint them on and trusting they would be done right. I think it will help with collectability. My only problem is you can't order the side stripes with the painted stripes.

Postthe order sheet. Im curious what the dealer cost is.

Also, I routinely overcharge for jobs i really dont want to do, but dont want to turn people down outright.

Worst case,they say no, i dont do a job i didnt want to deal with,
Best case, they agree, i get paid $$$$$ for a $ job

I have a feeling they'll most likely be on dealer ordered cars for stock, but very few people will order them otherwise.

I'm getting them.if my dealer gets the Golden ticket and I'm able to order the CFTP as well. I'm already $96k in, what's another $10k.....
Not to mention that it will make my care 1 of 5 or better. Twister Orange and Kono Blue Stripes.

I called 41 Ford Dealers before finding a dealer that had not already presold his allocation. Every dealer was well OVER MSRP. So good luck with that $7,000 under MSRP. If you find that deal you are one heck of a salesman!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

How much are the ADMs you were being quoted? I am pretty sure that all of the MSRP deals are spoken for now.

I don't get the reasoning behind the $10,000 for stripes.
Can they not make profit at a lower cost?
They would make more sales at a lower cost for sure.
It makes little sense when Porsche can paint the entire car in ANY color you can select on a color wheel for only $11,400 extra... and that's the ENTIRE car, jambs, underhood... everything!
I realize their prior paint shop is probably not set up for custom painting, as where Porsche already made provisions, but that is a bit of a sticker shock for most I would assume at 10K.
I bet they will look great though...!!!!

Ohhh... I'm not complaining about the price, I'm still waiting on my '19 Shelby with a mere wimpy 526 hp.
I chose the GT 350 over a 2020 Cayman GT4... They are bringing back the flat 6 and hp will increase to over 400 hp while maintaining 3000 pounds. They will NOT have the Shelby exhaust note that I HAVE got to HAVE...!!!

They pull the car off the line. By hand they mask and paint the stripes. Then they clear coat the entire car. Certainly not 10k in Ford's cost, but the cost is a huge pain in the ass to have to go through all that. They don't want to do it, but it's nice of them to offer the option for the people that HAVE to have it.

Throw in a hooker in Vegas, and I'll get the painted on stripes. Otherwise, pass....

If that's your thing, but those Bavarian girls are highly overrated. Have you seen the girls (she men) that carry multiple 1L mugs at Oktoberfest? They arent the girls on the St. Pauli beer posters.

I think with the price and huge deal it is, they'll be executed at a super high quality. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if painted stripe cars don't get some extra attention to the overall paint QA.

All you guys make it sound like its not a big deal to paint stripes on a car rolling down the assembly line. They have to pull the car, mask and paint, and then clear coat over the work that has been done. I would call that special attention.

Now is it worth 10K? No, IMHO. That would take a $97k car and bring it up to $107k. For me, the madness had to stop somewhere.

Ya, for whatever its worth I would have gladly paid $13,000 for the Painted Stripes. Iam in a process of fighting tooth and nail trying to get them. I put my order in on Monday and was told "Well since my dealer doesn't have a Golden Ticket" I probably won't get them. Like I said I would have paid even more and am having a tough time getting them. Its been quite the frustrating experience. Sorry, for bitching about this as I try real hard to not be a bitcher but the stripes "Painted" have caused me alot of grief.
