Going nGauge/Lund - what to expect?

So I just installed 2m long tubes on my 18GT. The CEL is on for the catless headers most likely and the car seems to be running rich. How many of you are running Lund and super happy, especially of those of you that went catless long tubes? It is my only mod currently but I am also looking forward to the A10 adjustment tunes as well as overall driveability.

Did you all data log prior to the "custom" tune or did you get it preloaded? They have a 4th sale that's 50 bucks off the nGauge/Tune and I am probably going to snag it then.

They will have you data log based on your mods, then revise it from there. It's not a canned tune. Excellent customer service.

Cant go wrong with any of the majors, them PBD or AED. Shaun at AED had me logging long before my long tubes were installed before he'd agree to tune it. From there went flex tune. If you have e85 available in your area it's more than worth the little bit more they charge to tune for it. E plus LTH = different animal.

That's just your car running extremely rich. A tune will fix that up no problem.

I reset the trip settings before work and it seems normal. 21 mpg most highway a little city so. Nothing to worry I dont think. Did some research and I might stick with the X4 as well. I guess the crank relearn cant be done on the nGauge and something about costing 50 bucks per license/tune from HP on the nGauge? Do you know anything about that?

You can too do a crank relearn with the Ngauge. Not sure about the cost per tune on the HP Tuners version. I only get my tunes from Lund and pay $50 for a revision after 3 months if I need one.

Good service at Lund. They will only converse via email in order to maintain a record of everything. So don't get your panties in a twist as some people have with other tuners who do business in the same manner. Like mentioned in response #2, it is NOT a CANNED TUNE. You may require several updates before getting it homed in. I got my latest revision after finally being able to make a few WOT hits due to all the rain this spring/summer in my area. So I am sneaking up on setting up a 7500 shift point. If mine were a manual it would be done. Manuals are much less involved and after 2 6R80's I will be moving back to a manual on my next setup. Just part of it. My 14 6R80 FI setup took 11 revisions to get to its happy spot.

Best of luck. Stay patient, and respect your tuner. You get much more from honey than vinegar. Worse comes to worse look up one of the dealers for Lund in your area and get them involved.

Ordered Friday morning and delivered Saturday via ground since I am in Central Florida for the LT install. Lund email/support has already been super fast and steady just from my general inquiry so I have no doubt they will be great. It feels weird ditching VMP and SCT as I used them for so long on previous Fords.

Ordered Friday morning and delivered Saturday via ground since I am in Central Florida for the LT install. Lund email/support has already been super fast and steady just from my general inquiry so I have no doubt they will be great. It feels weird ditching VMP and SCT as I used them for so long on previous Fords.

Lund is great. I've seriously been so impressed by their service to the point where I can't even think of any other service I pay for (non car related) where I get that level service.

On the plus side of ditching SCT, I've seen a lot of people having issues specifically with the SCT tuners on 18+ mustangs... like almost bricking their PCM's and other weirdness. The ngauge is a great device, I wouldn't change a thing about it.

So lund uses their own proprietary version of the ngauge which is separate of HP Tuners. Lund handles all the licensing on their end and just charges fees relating to the services being utilized. So there's an initial device cost (same price always except the occasional sale) and then the tune cost which varies based off the modifications to the car or selected fuels being used. That includes 3 months of revisions, and then if you want to reup the 3 months of revisions at a later time it's another much smaller fee or if you add some major modifications (got from NA to FI or nitrous) there's a fee associated with the retune.

In short, best place to buy an ngauge is anywhere that's an authorized retailed or from lund directly as the price is pretty much the same. I buy all of my parts from Lethal Performance as I've been very happy with their service also and they're a great group of people to do business with.

Yea pretty much. You can buy an hptuners ngauge and lund will convert it for a fee, but doesn't make sense unless you find a really good deal on a used one to offset the cost. Once an ngauge is setup for lund (whether converted or bought that way), it can only be used with lund forever.
