Hey guys just thought I'd show ya'll a couple of cheap and easy ways to clena up under the hood. Still haven't deleted my sound tube, or painted my coil covers, those will be done soon.

GENERIC BEFORE PICTURE:

I painted the top half of my tank with black plastidip. I didn't remove the tank completely, just pulled off the top 2 hoses and unbolted it. I braced it up along the top of the radiator, and covered the whole area around it with some paper to prevent over spray.

DURING:

AFTER:

Also deleted that stupid bubble looking thing in front of the intake. Used a 2 1/8" hole saw to round the hole, and found a 2 1/8" plug from Home Depot (it was bronze, and I dipped it black)

Final product. Also added a JLT catch can. Still waiting to delete the sound tube, paint my coil covers, and adding hood struts (still not sure which brand I want).

Thanks for looking!

Looks nice! Much cleaner!

I've been considering plasti-dipping my reservoir as well.

Home Depot! Plastidip in plain black is what I used, they sell other colors too. Cost $6 a can, I did 4 heavy coats, and still have maybe half a can left.

Just make sure to wipe down the whole surface with alcohol really well before spraying.

I did the same thing with my coolant tank, and it does look much better. I left a window for me to see the max coolant level. Just taped around it using a mold line on the tank, then carefully used a knife to trim before I peeled off the masking. Holding up very well after a month or so.

Look at the airbox in the OEM picture, then look at my after pic. You will see what I'm talking about.

I think it's called a helmholtz resonator.

Dipped mine a few months ago and couldn't believe how much of a difference it made. Looks great. Maybe hit that brake fluid container too?

Redline Hood Struts are a good choice to go with if you want something simple but effective. Easy to install and takes less than 15 minutes.
I've had mine for about 4 months now and haven't had any issues.
And they got the options of Black or Aluminum, so either would go well with your car color.

They are not bad ..but for a little more ..could just get a new polished tank and paint it..they come out really nice painted
I was thinking about getting one of the after market tanks. I just don't like the fact that you can't see the fluid inside. With the cover you can still see.
