Best part it’s listed with pictures on their website for sale and it’s got 34 miles on it already.

I know mileage happens when moving a car but this seems excessive. Are strangers test driving my baby before I know she’s there?
I could be (note: could be, not is) innocuous. The car is driven on and off the trains and trucks used in delivery. You could have come across a jerk of a hauler. Many dealers have an IT person who lists every car in inventory on their websites as soon as it comes in, just to get people to call, even if they have no plan to try to sell it. Also, Ford does pull some cars out of the system at the plant and test drive them for 30 - 50 miles as part of their QC system. That happens to a very low percentage of cars, and the cars have a special sticker attached to show that has happened.

So I really need to rant right now.

Apologize in advance if this isn’t the place but I’m bothered and I feel like you all would be the ones to truly understand.

I’ve been waiting 6 months for my 19 GT.

I finally get pictures of it today and see that it’s been unwrapped, driven, and muddied by someone’s dirty feet getting in and out of the drivers seat. Looks like there are foot marks in the rockers. There aren’t any floor mats down and there are crumbs on my center console.

It’s not like I’m a risky sell. I have excellent credit, a trade in, and I’ve been preapproved for nearly $15k more than I will need to cover the cost of the car.

I don’t know how to handle this situation. I just know I’m fucking angry other people have been possibly damaging my 50k ride that I’ve waited half a year for before I’ve even laid eyes on her.

What was your mileage at drive away? What’s typical ? Is this normal with special orders?
The millage thing seems about average in my experience but it's impossible to know who did what in those 34 miles. The manual says there's a break in period and that would concern me but nothing to break the deal because warranty/lemon law.

This is where I get weird though....The crumbs and dirt and other mess would trigger the crap out of me. Its a blatant disrespect to the car and to you. The investment of time only makes it worse too because I would totally tell them where to shove that deal but I would also want the car. I would be crazy pissed off at it being listed too. As an outsider it's easy to say "ef them!" and to recommend going someplace else but you're the one who has been waiting 6 months. Ask for a test drive (after it's cleaned up), tune out whoever has to ride with you, and decide if you can live with the car as it is now.

I ordered and waited and enjoyed a Raptor when they first came out in 2010. I had to go out of state for work for 3 months and when I got back, one of the custodians of my truck had smoked in it and left some coffee stains. I made it to the trucks first oil change and traded it in because it felt ruined. Just a little background on my weirdness lol.

Welp - thought I'd share - I love that it tells me delivered in '1 days' still - but ok, I'm glad I didn't let myself get too "hyped". haha

So, maybe it's sitting with no steering wheel? All I can do is laugh at this point. Thankful I don't NEED a car or anything, feel bad for those that have been in that spot, and needed to plan around getting their orders on time.

Wow. The 2/28 "In Production" and still waiting would be the latest steering wheel hold posted, unless it's to the side for some other reason.

Now, starting either tomorrow or Thursday your tracker's "will be delivered in" number will begin counting up. That's always a blast.

Ugh, that is a bummer! Hopefully it gets sorted soon.

My EDD changed from 5/31 to 5/22. So let's see how many times that changes between now and then.

My delivery date is in 21 days. If it holds up I will have waited 6mos. and a week. Not looking forward to further delays.:frown:

What's a real bite is that orders for 2020s will be taken pretty soon after I eventually get my 19. I thought I had ordered in plenty of time back in oct./18 to have a brand new car at the start of 2019. Geezus my 19 will be old news by the time I get it.

Man I'm excited to see the numbers go up! lol -ugh-

Also, damn Lewis - man 6 months is a trip. Here I am complaining about ~almost 3 months.

I was talking to a friend and he realized, "wait, you're still waiting?" Yes indeed, I maintain that I'm calm and collected, and that I knew this wait was going to be brutal going in. I guess the silver lining is I'm able to eek that interest off the down-payment a little longer? :piggybank: But like.. cmon.. weather is warming up, and I want my shiny new car! :please:

Except for my original order - in production since 2/19/19...
My mistake. I should have said "latest" steering wheel posted, as all the others were prior to 2/25. Fixed above.

My order for a 301A 6M with active exhaust was placed on Feb 20th and I still don't have a VIN from my dealer.
I ordered it from Northway Ford in Brantford, Ontario. Dealership has 23 mustangs on the lot so I thought they'd had better pull than the smaller dealerships closer to where I live...

Wondering if anyone had a similar build and/or order date in the GTA area or anywhere else?

Spring weather is upon us and I can't see myself waiting 3-4 months for this car, I'd rather pick one up from a dealership at that point.

You should've had your VIN 2-3 weeks after you placed your order. But the 3-4 months of waiting is the normal time you need to wait to have the exact car you want. If normal delays are respected you should have yours end of May or start of June if your dealer really ordered it when you placed your order.

Took almost 2 months exactly to get my VIN...

That's because your dealer didn't do their job the right way. They probably ordered it as a stock car, not a special order. They probably didn't have allocation. Normal VIN delays should be 2-3 weeks after the order is placed with Ford. Then 7-8 weeks to build date and finally 2-4 weeks of delivery. (When you live in North America)

Ordered my First Car in nearly 35 years of driving. My son works at Ford now so I decided to "keep it in the family" and go with a Mustang.

Ecoboost Premium
Velocity Blue, Blue Interior with Grabber Blue Stitch
201A Package
Pony Package with White Tape Stripe
Active Valve Exhaust
B&O Sound System

It's been a month and I don't have the VIN yet. Trying to be patient based on information I've read above. Thank you to everyone sharing their stories. Not sure if I'm going to be able to wait 3 more months.
