Yeah I get what you're going for. I'm going to try and heat up and bend the passenger side one when I install it this weekend, to see if I can overcome the pointy-seat bit thing that prevents it from being perfect. I'll let you know how it goes!
How did you go with the heat and bend idea?

So I've noticed that sometimes when I am reaching and pulling the belt occasionally it will pull itself out of the guide. I am still not sure how it keeps happening especially when it is difficult to insert in the first place.

No dice on the heat and bend, unfortunately. Wouldn't give and I got that sucker really hot!

As for the slipping out, that happens to me too, I guess you could wedge like, some thin foam or a tiny o ring in there to close the gap. I imagine that's just a downside to these types of seatbelt guides.

I wonder if Cobalt owners get in our mustangs and think, "man, I wish I had a leather seatbelt clip like that in our cars, Chevrolet should have designed it that way from the factory."

Did my drivers side today. Passenger side will probably reside in the 'to do' section of the garage forever. Great mod, but cost more to import to the UK than the items temselves. Put a sticker over the spare hole and a piece of self-advesive felt to the loop bit to reduce any potential rubbing on the seat.

Looks like the passenger side (10386174) might be discontinued, and some places show the drivers side (10385983) discontinued also. Might have to call the dealer tomorrow to check.

Wow, that's weak. I'd call some pull-a-part yards and see if they have any Chevy cobalts, they were OEM parts off those cars and being so lightweight I imagine you could get a set for a dollar or two.

Yeah junkyard is the next step. The S550 convertible seats would be an option if I had leather.

You could also check car-part.com for other local sellers.

I also did a quick Google for these and found a ton of dealerships still selling them online, where were you looking? Maybe do a general search for "chevy cobalt seatbelt guides" instead of the product number. Or are those sellers all sold out?

I bought two for the driver side from gmpartstore.com and they showed in stock, but then they canceled the order. I feel like that would probably happen other places also.
