Hey guys,
This is my first post, so be gentle..! I'm new to my S550, had it for about 5 weeks now, and have already come to really detest to the stock "flap" style seatbelt guides.
I recently came across EcoSVO's idea for using Chevy Cobalt seatbelt guides for our headrests, but Cobalt guides are no longer available on the GM parts websites, and increasingly expensive on eBay. I looked into a few different other vehicles with similar guide styles (2010+ Challenger, older Monte Carlo, Pontiac G6, etc.), but they're too expensive.
Fast forward to last night, when I had an idea. I had bought a bunch of "multi-hanger hangers" on Amazon; the kind that holds 5 clothes hangers, and then lays flat. They're around $12 for a 10-pack. Turns out the holes are almost exactly 1/2", which a quick pass with the drill evens out. I wish a hole for the other side lined up, but it stays in place pretty surprisingly well, anyway. Might round it out with the Dremel, to have it snap in place, but it's fine for now!
Anyway, happy to have some seatbelt retention that isn't too obtrusive, easy off for loading the kids up, and fits the seat lines! I looped the magnetic flap over it, to keep it place a bit more.
Hopefully someone else finds this helpful!
