I had a new compressor fitted on Friday to my 3 week old MY17 GT so I now have working AC of a sort

Went to didsbury car show this morning , about 68-70 degrees and it was blowing cold , got back in the car at 86 degrees outside and it just couldn't cope , it's blowing cool air at the higher ambient air temp but not what I'd call cold until I'd been on the motorway for 20 minutes and even then I needed it on max ac to stop the car heating up

As a comparison they lent me a fiesta which was stood in the sun in the high 80s. and within 5 minutes I had to turn the AC up it was that cold

Air conditioning problems in this car generally lead back to a faulty evaporator (dealerships sometimes do not like to admit the issue due to the fact that a dash removal is necessary to rectify the problem).

Sorry Wack... take it back...again

It just hasn't been fixed... or tested before they gave it back to you....

Maybe a nearer dealer can do it next time?

Bad on Ford...

Not good when it's a new car... I sympathise

Yes it's not right mine is ice cold and that blast from max ac is fantastic when you've overdone it in the sun and it cools the car down just a couple of minutes

Like Bob says take it back

don't know what those old fashioned units are in real money :) but 30 degree's today and its been lovely and cold though turn it off for 10 seconds and with the amount of glass the car has it rapidly becomes an oven.

Cold. Proper cold. Within a few seconds of turning it on.

As above, had to turn it up a bit on the motorway this evening with an outside temp into the 30's.
Mine used to be like this, now is never like this.

I noticed mine does take a little while to cool down but does get cold eventually, but it is really hot so giving it the benefit of the doubt at the moment.

How can you tell if you have an issue? And is it worth getting Ford to look at it before the warranty expires?

That's how cold the fiesta got in a few minutes of city centre driving ,this doesn't get that cold after 30 minutes , I can't be going back to Nottingham again so it'll have to be local

Have you checked all the settings. As you know mine was same as yours from same dealer but I had my compressor fitted friday by a local dealer.

Its ice cold @ 17C on the setting but I did have to switch it into Auto mode as was blowing luke warm to start with. Seems they tested it in manual and I didn't notice it wasnt in auto for a while. I pressed the Max AC button and it was cold so knew compressor was working.

There's 3 buttons, I'm sure the AC should still be cold with AC on and low on the settings screen but mine doesn't seem to be when the ambient air is really hot

The air coming out of the vents should be about 6 deg C when air con is working on max. Any competent air con fitter would have measured this with a probe before they gave it back to you.
