I run this exhaust. Just put it on last week. It’s great but there are things you need to understand and be comfortable with.

It’s loud. Like for real. If your looking for volume it has it in spades. And not just volume but a good volume. It sounds good. Very rich deep tone. But it’s def loud. Cold starts will alarm you. And above 4k rpm it sounds like Thor in a NASCAR sprint cup.

This exhaust completely changes the character of the car. And again in a good way. There is a sense of sensitivity to the throttle that isn’t there in the stock exhaust. Part of this is placebo I’m sure. But part is also due to the h-pipe and unrestricted exhaust flow. Downshifting at lower RPM feels different. Not just because it’s louder. Blip the throttle and you can hear it and feel it. It’s wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Rev the engine out now and doesn’t sound like crap. It’s super aggressive and loud. And deep and throaty. People WILL notice you. I’ve had drivers in cars in front of me move out my way just from the exhaust note. It’s loud. Is deep. It’s angry. But there is more to the story than that...

I actually find myself driving in a higher gear than I use to. Like i might be in 4th normally but now I’m in 5th. Or might be in 5th but I’ll now comfortably do 6th. There just seems to be more avail power at that lower RPM...below 2000 rpm where normally I wouldn’t be. The exhaust is also remarkably quiet at very low RPM cruising. And with an exhaust this loud, control is key. If it’s loud and nasty all the time it’s not gonna work for any sense of a daily driver. It’s a track exhaust no doubt, but if you live with it outside the track that might be an issue. Which brings me to the one negative about this thing you need to fully understand and be comfortable with. This topic is important for me because this thing is loud and it got...drone!

About the only bad thing to report on this thing is drone. It’s a muffler delete. It’s going to drone. Very little you can do. Make sure your torqued to spec and understand how to control your throttle to get you above or below 2k RPM “drone zone”. Again this is why I “discovered” 6th gear driving. Takes me out of this range while still having good enough cruising torque. It’s great for residential neighborhoods and just controlling the volume. Highway tho is much harder. The drone is bad on the HW.

My hope is that a Ford Power Pack 1 or 2 will increase my lower end power even better allowing me to apply even less throttle and thus more control over the Drone Zone. I purchased this system knowing AWE has an upgrade kit that can get me out of the track and into a touring system without having to buy a whole new system. Good news is my wife actually loves this more than I do. But for me the HW drone I’m not 100% sold on. I don’t daily the car, but I need to know I could road trip this thing and not have ears bleeding after 100 Miles. I’m going to re-check my torque specs and verify this install is correct. Then maybe see what I am able to accomplish with the Power Packs.

But as it stands now, if I can’t control the drone better than I am currently configured...I’ll be buying the conversion. Otherwise it’s solid choice. If you don’t HW the car much or at all...this would be my #1 recommended choice. Totally transforms the way this car not only sounds, but drives.

The feeling of "power" is the fact you took about 20 lbs. off of the car with an aftermarket exhaust. The stock exhaust is not restrictive after the cats for N/A power.

Don't assume a little more power will affect your "drone zone". Car cruises at effectively the same RPM at a given speed pre and post 93 octane tune.

I am not convinced that the resonator weight is what is causing me to feel more power. I’ve had 15+ lbs of groceries in the car and didn’t notice a difference. I’ve had friends ride in the car and didn’t notice a difference. Car weights 3800 pounds or something. 20lbs or so off the resonator I don’t believe makes for something you can feel. I much more trust my assumption about the h-pipe and how it flows relative to lower RPM than 20 lbs.

According to Ford the car picks up 40 lb-feet at 1500 rpm. The reason why I almost never drove the car on 6th outside the HW was it has no power below 2k. Ford says they will bump me in that range. I’m going to take them at their word.

I had the Ford tune. I even have a dyno video of it. It sucked. They've revised it since, but it was awful on my car and others.

You do not come out of the "drone zone" while cruising.

Quite frankly, I ended up WITH drone that I didn't have before. The cats are restrictive, not the catback.
