Mine started wearing through at the driver's heel within 2,000 miles. I like the mats, so I decided it would probably be a yearly purchase. I haven't pulled the trigger, yet.

Husky WeatherBeater for me. I like the looks and they are indestructible. They also flair up on the sides to contain dirt, debris and water.

Yes the Lloyd mats shed profusely and the heel area wears quite easily. Not impressed. I used them for a few months and couldn't take it anymore.
I ended going with these 3D MAXpider mats and I really like them. They are textured and more rubber like surface feel unlike the typical Husky brand (although those are the only brand I would use in my Tahoe). I did however make two mods by trimming out the area around the dead pedal and I removed the little logo they come with. Easy to remove and clean as well.

There are about a half dozen different materials Lloyds uses for their mats. Classic loop all the way to a super deep plush. I assume each material behaves differently. So people will have different wear rates and issues depending on the material used.

Most ones I see are Velourtex. Some ultalux. I bought the cheapo classic loop. I figure that if they hold up well then why pay more. Have not installed them do no idea if they do.

Gray Area, do the 3D's have a retention device for the carpet peg or a hole for the peg to fit through?

Haven't noticed the shedding, but my driver side mat is getting really worn out from my heel...and I've only had them in for like 3-4 weeks or so. I've seen some people modify the mat to include a heel plate...but I don't want to be slipping around on it.
I did something similar to that but instead of a piece of plastic I used an old Mustang floor mat , cut the front section and clipped it in place. Not perfect but does keep the heel wear at bay.

Iā€™ve had the same issues with my Lloyd mats. The heel wear after only a few thousand miles is terrible.
Yeah exactly, mine started wearing pretty fast at that same location with only 4500 miles.

I use OEM mats and they still look new after 9000 miles.

I was about to get a set of the Lloyds because of the Shelby logo. I have weathertech liners now and they're great but I don't drive my car much and thought the lloyds would be a nice touch. I'm seriously second guessing now

Same here. Seriously worn after the first couple months with little driving.

Iā€™m glad the OP started this thread. I believe Iā€™m going to pass on them as much as really like them. Iā€™m a little disappointment

I use nothing but coco mats. Have a pair in my '66 Mustang that were put in around 1995 and still look great.
