Threw a main bearing @2300miles

Barely flogged her. On COTA, 2nd session out in the rain, feeling like a ***** because it is slippery and I don't know the track. Hear something fucking up in the engine, looked at gauges and oil temp was stable, but ZERO oil pressure. Turned off safely at the wide run off of T18?

Towed off track by a COTA tow service that proceeded to drop a tow bar (hovers over the front of vehicle/chains to undercarriage) right on my fucking hood (insult to injury). Now COTA is being completely unresponsive on my requests to get compensation..Wasn't a good weekend.

Anyway, diagnosis: thrown main bearing
treatment plan: long block

It was like barely sticking it in a hot chick and then it ends abruptly...Didn't get to 6/10ths.

Sorry for your loss man. Is the replacement long block going to be warranty ?
So did the oil pump fail?
I am about to install a whipple on my GT 350 and will be doing billet OPG/ CS at the same time .
Also plan on building a "spare" long block with a spare set of GT 350 heads I have .
Considering starting with the MMR GT 350 short block or having it built by whipple like they have done for another forum member .

Warranty. I would assume, but I told the dealership it was most likely oil pump related. Took two weeks to determine, according to them, thrown main bearing. Perhaps he left that out, or it was over their heads.

I was thinking about building a spare engine too. Sounds like fun.

Sorry to hear that man. I run my engine hard anytime I feel like it, which is often. Probably have redline this car more in a month than my entire history of driving. If it blows, I want it to happen during my 8yr warranty
