After owning a 2015 Mustang GT Premium Convertible for 2 years, and having my sole local dealership to refuse any and all warranty work, and having Ford indicate that they're fine with local dealerships choosing not to perform warranty work, I am now free from my old Mustang and Ford.

I paid a lot more every month for nearly 2 years, and finally got rid of it, without ever having the issues resolved (or even looked at by Ford or any Ford dealership).

When I started looking at new cars, having a Shelby was in the back of my mind, but because of Ford and my local dealer I decided against it and bought a 2018 Camaro ZL1.

I'm happy to never have to put up with my crappy local Ford dealership (Anderson Ford, Lincoln, NE) ever again, and I'm happy to be representing the Chevy brand instead. If Ford wouldn't have screwed me over so bad, and allowed local dealerships to refuse warranty work, things might have turned out better for them. In the mean time, I'll be enjoying my new ZL1.

Happy Driving everyone.

I dunno man, might be out of the frying pan and into the fire. I was thinking about buying a SS1 1LE but the feedback I got about GM dealers and reluctance to perform warranty work on performance cars kind of shoved that thought away. Seems like they've all got good and bad dealers. Good luck on that ZL1 though and hopefully you'll have a better experience.

I'd love to hear the juicy details on how this dealership screwed you over sooooooo badly.

The juicy details are basically what I previously said. My local dealer refused to do any warranty work on my 6 month old Mustang that had 5,000 miles on it. The car was not modified at all, but they refused to do any warranty work at all. Then when I complained to Ford about it, they said too bad so sad. Definitely not the way the someone should be treated after paying over 50k for a car.

I hope that isn't true. My experience with the Chevy dealer I bought it from has been positive so far, but things won't really be known until an issue comes up. I bought a used car (my winter beater car) from the same dealership after buying the ZL1, and they've been great on that so far dealing with a check engine light. I guess only time will tell.

My main issue in all of this was that Ford told me too bad so sad after I complained to them. When there's only ONE Ford dealer in your city, and they're not servicing your brand new car, and the auto manufacturer encourages that behavior, I think that says a lot about the manufacturer. I couldn't wait until the day I got rid of that Mustang, and now I did and it feels great.

Too bad, because I liked the car a lot. Just not enough to put up with crappy service from Ford and my local dealer.

My right turn signal would flash a couple of quick times inside indicating an issue existed. When that happened, I got out of the car and took tons of videos of the issue. The first 2 sequential lights from left to right would work, but the 3rd one would not. Sometimes it would work, other times it wouldn't. But I tool LITERALLY 20 different videos at different times of the day/night where it happened, and the dealership wasn't willing to spend any time looking into it. They wouldn't look for a loose wire. They wouldn't let me drive there when the issue was occurring so they could witness the issue. They wouldn't just replace the part under warranty and then charge me for the part if the new part didn't fix it.

I also had a problem with the outside mirrors changing to all of the way up, and then when I got back into the car it would go all of the way down and just continue clicking down over and over and over and over....

I also had problems with the Entertainment system just completely shutting down while I was driving. Perfect one second, and then completely shut down the next.

All of these issues the dealership wanted no part of, and told me that they would not ever do any warranty work on my car. Those issues continued to persist until the day I sold it, because I could never get it fixed.

Find it very hard to believe a Dealer would refuse to do that sort of warranty work. My bet is a very unfriendly customer, probably demanded repairs and the dealer just didn't want to deal with it.

 my thoughts exactly

And that’s where you’d be wrong and why I’m ecstatic to no longer own a Mustang.
