2018 Mustang Orders Placed Thread (Vote/Share Here)

Makes sense. My two out of state purchases didn't involve a trade-in, but my 2016 GT will be getting traded in on my 2019 Bullitt. I may do a road trip to the dealer a few weeks before to get an appraisal. I have a friend that owns a local non-Ford dealership too that will buy the car from me for blue book if the out of state dealer lowballs me so hopefully the trade will go smoothly. If you have a Carmax near you, you could get a written offer from them as a backup if the dealer that has the car you want in stock wants to lowball you.

I was going to try out Carmax, but I went to local dealership first to place the order. They ended up giving me a great deal so I took their offer. I sold it and just told them to hold the money until my Mustang order came in. If there is no movement on my order in the next few weeks, I'll have to check the inventory in Vegas as well. Vegas is about a 5 hour drive for me.

I placed my order for a PP1 with magneride on November 22, and just got A VIN today. My dealer had previously contacted the regional scheduled, and was told magneride, and of all things the contrast stitching on the 401 seats, were placed on material hold until March ( cc'd me on the email). Anyway, he was able to get my priority bumped to 1, and now my car is scheduled for March 5. And silly me, now I'm trying to get it changed to a PP2 since I'm waiting until April for delivery.

Can you post the letter about the material hold? Congrats, hopefully you can change to PP2. [MENTION=11611]Nanashii[/MENTION] and I both ordered our PP2's in November and got our VIN #'s and EDD's a week apart from each other.

Sorry, didn't save the email, this was back in late December when I was getting antsy about not getting scheduled. How long did it take for you guys to get VINs? I was starting to think I wasn't gonna get a 2018 at all.

2.5-3 months but we knew that going into ordering a PP2 since it was stated that production wouldn't start until March. If you have a blend date of March 5th I'm hoping my blend date is a week+ before yours since I got my vin # last Tuesday.

Weird, because COTUS has the EDD for my PP1 with magneride the day before yours. Maybe my VIN was issued last week and my dealer didn't tell me :shrug:

Yes. My dealership gives me updates every week. I emailed my salesman this morning and nothing has changed yet with my order. No VIN but it's still in the system. Not sure what I will do if Magneride orders are pushed into 2019. I have checked inventory on Ford and there is literally only one Mustang in California that has all the options I want. Unfortunately they wouldn't do a dealer trade so I ordered.

I was notified this past week by NAtional Sales Operations that Mustang's ordered with Magneride will no longer be built as 2018 model year and that those parts (magneride) are not available (backordered) until 2019 production begins. Previous to this my dealer had gone as far as giving me a build date of March 5, 2018.

I would call your dealer owner and have them get on this ASAP because chances are your car is not getting built as ordered. I hate to say it but your salesman likely has no idea what is happening at this point.

I found one with all the options I wanted but in a different colour that was already on a dealer lot. That's what I would start doing if I was you.

Yea that probably happened. Where in California are you? I'm about 25 miles east of SF my car was ordered in San Jose.

I'm in the Monterey Bay area, and my car was ordered locally.

Well it's officially delivery date and the car is still in Michigan. My EDD is now gone from COTUS.

I was just in San Jose the whole week for a meeting lol nice weather.

Nope, I guess their system doesn’t allow it to show negative days so once the EDD is elapsed it just hides it from COTUS. The car is still in awaiting shipment.

A bunch of cars for the German market got new EDD. Mine and some others with MagneRide went from 03/22 to 03/16. I guess (hope) we‘ll see progress on Cotus next week and getting in Production?!!

Dood it's been hot AF over here. We didn't get a winter weather at all. Last year this time it was pouring rain.

It's a lot better than 15F here in Illinois, Chicago got like 7 inches of snow Thursday night.

Maybe that's why Canada is saying it's backordered. It sounds like region is yet another impact on MFG date. Perhaps to help logistics of getting a lot of cars across the pond without having them sit in lots here in the States waiting to take a truck to a train to a truck to a ship to a truck to a dealer.
