I hope you're right, if you have a car ordered.

I also would be having the dealer owner make the calls and not go by what a regular Ford Rep says. These types of back orders etc will not be popular with customers and I'm sure Ford didn't blast out a email to everyone stating their problem on Tuesday.

I had the owner involved the entire time and without his intervention would not have found out.
You might be right, I'm going to text my sales guy today and see whats up.

Interesting, mine has Magna Ride. Yesterday my salesman informed me of the lack of information on my car.
Same here. I was with the salesman when he put in the order on 1/25. As of yesterday, still no VIN or any info on my order. I have the Magnaride as well.

Is your order still on Cotus, or did it dissapear completely?

Of course I still don't have a valid order number since my brilliant dealer has like 3 cars assigned 9999 (which they use for deal building) and mine is among them. Amusingly, I can track 9999 with my name on lotus, but it shows an Explorer.
That means your car is not on COTUS yet. My dealer does the same thing. As soon as the car I ordered was on COTUS, I was able to pull it up with the order number, dealer code and my first name in the last name field (the dealer included my first name only on the Vehicle Order Confirmation). Before that, I was pulling up a F-250 with the same inputs.

Mine has never shown up on Cotus. I have been getting updates from my dealership. My salesman looked today and still no VIN. My order is still in the system so hopefully orders with Magnaride aren't being pushed out. My only guess is why I don't have a VIN yet is due to the plant being closed. Maybe Ford is waiting to issue VIN's when the plant reopens. My last order from Ford a few years ago, I had a VIN in a week and it was on Cotus within days of ordering.

Same situation here. I ordered with MagneRide and have no info.

Yes. My dealership gives me updates every week. I emailed my salesman this morning and nothing has changed yet with my order. No VIN but it's still in the system. Not sure what I will do if Magneride orders are pushed into 2019. I have checked inventory on Ford and there is literally only one Mustang in California that has all the options I want. Unfortunately they wouldn't do a dealer trade so I ordered.

I ordered almost the exact same things as you on the options except mine is Oxford white and manual. I was torn between Magnetic and white and decided to go with white. If there was a Magnetic in California with all the options I wanted, I would try and get that one. I searched for both white and Magnetic on Ford's website.

You guys should just do a road trip to get the car you want if you found a match elsewhere. Driving a few hours is a way shorter wait than 5+ months. I'm ordering my car from a dealership 4 hours away just so that I can get a better allocation on my 2019 Bullitt. I've bought 2 of my last 3 Mustangs out of state, it's not bad.

I would if I could, since my car probably won't be here until March. I can't find a single one within a 500mi radius optioned like mine with or without PP.

Drawback of living in the corner of the country. These cars seems like they are over-saturated in most of the country.

I ordered mine from a dealer in Las Vegas, not only did I get a better price, they are high volume mustang dealer so they have many allocations and I should get a good priority code... We will see soon enough.

I would have done that if I didn't have a trade in. My local dealership gave me a great offer on my trade in and the dealership that is 3 hours away with the car I want wouldn't give me a rough estimate. I didn't want to drive down there and get lowballed on my trade in. The local dealership is holding the money until my order comes and will apply it to the Mustang when I pick it up. If I don't get a VIN or build date in the next few weeks, I'll get the money and look at inventory in California.

Makes sense. My two out of state purchases didn't involve a trade-in, but my 2016 GT will be getting traded in on my 2019 Bullitt. I may do a road trip to the dealer a few weeks before to get an appraisal. I have a friend that owns a local non-Ford dealership too that will buy the car from me for blue book if the out of state dealer lowballs me so hopefully the trade will go smoothly. If you have a Carmax near you, you could get a written offer from them as a backup if the dealer that has the car you want in stock wants to lowball you.
