Now I'm just waiting on my order number from my dealer.

Regarding some of the comments regarding rebates, I think Ford's policy is actually thatyou get the best available between order & delivery. Though I cannot recall where I read that.

i got the highest amount whether it be when I ordered the car or when I took delivery. But I know some dealers will allow you to take advantage over both. But I saved about 4k with the rebates and X-plan! So I'm a happy camper!

I was confused when they were dealing on mine. I'm not used to that. I ordered my last 2 cars (2001 Audi TT Roadster & 2010 Golf TDI) and both were in high demand so I was lucky to get ~$500 off MSRP. Getting below invoice, plus a $1500 rebate on their first offer threw me a bit.

I'm surprised a lot of people don't know about X-plan. As soon as, I knew I was ordering my mustang I signed up for MCA and got my X-plan pin. So many people don't take advantage of it. It's free money basically. You have to pay $50/year but you save at least 3k just with that alone!!

That was my ceiling, I knew I'd get at least that. I get it through work. But the dealership beat x-plan by a wide margin without me even mentioning it. I saw the calculations on x-plan somewhere (and the other plans too - but can't find that post at the moment). This is from fordstnation.com:

X plan = Dealer Invoice - (0.4% Dealer Invoice) + $275 administrative fee.

Easiest way to calculate X plan pricing is to total Dealer Invoice, multiply that by 0.996, add $275.

Note: X plan sets the maximum limit on document fees (doc fees) to $100, but do check if your state/local law sets a lower maximum. The maximum dealer doc fee under X plan is whichever is less: $100 or your state/local law's maximum.​

Yea that's why the other guy who ordered from Koons got his order through so fast. Koons sells alot of cars, period. I hope when I finally get vinned up my order moves as fast as his. Just to see an EDD will put my anxiety at ease because then I'll see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Spoke with my dealer yesterday and he told me that allocation matters only for special cars like gt350, not for mustang gt. Still no answer for why I don't have a vin after six weeks. He has been telling me that he is trying to get in touch with ford rep for three weeks. I am sure he is bs-ing me.

So far. Thanks to your cotus checker I knew at noon on the dot Pacific time. I just contacted Ford customer service and they don't see a build date or EDD on it yet. It's only been 2.5 hours haha.
