MT82 transmissions in the 2018 Mustangs

I hope this isn't a dead horse that's about to be beat up on here, but I'm finally in the market for another mustang. My last 2011 Mustang was one of the ones with numerous clutch issues, and grinding issues. When I finally got it fixed from ford for the third time, I sold it with 26K miles in 2015. That's right, I couldn't drive a car for 4 years because of it either A) being worked on or B) just not having enough faith in the thing to get me where I want to go.

With that said, that has me leaning towards the Automatic. I love the 10 speed that is in my F150 and think it would be great in a Mustang, but I want to give the 6 speed another try, but just gun shy.

What are you guys' thoughts that have the new mustangs with the manuals? Feel more solid than previous?

Definitely a dead horse. Many many threads on the manual trans including the physical changes and owner's driving impressions.

They're clearly horrible, get the automatic so you can drink your coffee whilst you drive.

It's basically programmed better for road racing. People have commented that Fords 10 can on occasion have a bit of issue hunting for the right gear to be in.

A lot of that can be attributed to the fact that the ford 10 speed has adaptive learning .
