Hi there,
I bought a nearly new Mustang just before Christmas, so I thought I would join this forum and introduce myself.
My car is a Grabber Blue 2017 model with a 5.0 and a 6-speed, Performance Pack. I wasn't really looking for another car (I have a 2010 Focus and a 1988 Merkur XR4Ti), but something made me start researching the used prices for these. I found this one at an Audi dealer with only 555 miles on the clock, so while it was a "used car", it's still pretty much brand new. The day I picked it up it was snowing, but the ABS, traction control, and posi rear made the ride home less nerve-wracking than I thought.
At the moment, I don't plan on doing any major upgrades on it, although I did put a child seat in the back. The factory 6-speaker stereo is a joke for such an awesome car, the stock system in my Focus sounds like it has subwoofer by comparison (it doesn't). I used to build boom cars back in the day, so maybe I will upgrade the sound system?
I moved here 17 years ago from London, and I have always been interested in cars. When I lived in the UK, I had a bunch of Mini Coopers first, and then the Mustangs European cousin, the Ford Capri (sold as the Mercury Capri in the US). I had a couple of Mk3 Capris, which were like the Capri 2 but with a minor facelift. Two of these I fitted Rover V8 motors into (similar to the Buick 215 all-aluminum motor), which is the most common V8 over there, and so doesn't upset people for installing a non-Ford motor.
When I moved Stateside, I brought with me my 1970 Capri. This had a hot 4-cylinder motor, bored out to 2.1 liters, with a 285 cam, dual Dellorto carbs, big valve head, a tubular header, and a straight through muffler system. I fitted a 5-speed from a later Capri, and the interior was re-trimmed in blue leather. Sadly, I sold this a few years ago. I've also owned four Merkur XR4Tis, one of these I still have.
I plan on making a trip to my local Mustang club here in South Jersey, and I might take the car to some shows. The picture below was one that the dealer took, I'm waiting for the weather to warm up so I can wash and wax it, and take some pictures myself.
