Please God no!!! Hell, the bow tie boys will have put out 3 new models by then!! No way they make us wait that long!
Heard Z28 might be coming before too long. Shoot this thing sounds like it’ll be coming after the mid engine vette.
If this is indeed coming for 2020 MY, maybe the 350 will be a 19my refresh.

even when the “HP numbers” are not as high as some people say...
Wait, so how high are people saying? Are we talking it won't be as high as 800, or it won't be as high as 650? that seems to be the range that most people are talking, and honestly, if it doesn't even hit 650, it's a flop :frusty:

Waiting 5 years for a new GT500 that fails to significantly improve power would be an outrage. The last one was 662 hp. The new one should at least be @750.

Something has gone wrong in Dearborn. We all know that this new GT500 (or whatever they plan
to call it) has been in planning and engineering phase for years..we have been seeing a disguised
prototype testing with a Camaro and a Porsche....last year. If indeed it will still be another year
before release, I think that someone has put it on hold and I would be interested in why.

It will have more power than it’s direct competitors but it won’t have as much as other “Americans”. Think about a Power to Weight ratio of 5.76lb per HP.

Some people is talking about 800+ (that was the “high” I was talking about)

Will be able to pulley swap and tune for the power you want. 800 should be easy to get, not sure how well the dct will hold up. That’s most likely the Achilles heal.

So, more than 650 (Camaro = direct competitor) and less than 808 (Demon = other "American1") and 707 (Hellcat = other "American2").

Is that what I'm reading???

Just looking into this hint a bit... at 4150lbs, a 5.76lb/hp ratio would put it at 720... just a thought! BTW, ZL1 1LE had 6.04lbs/hp

That’s about where I’m at. I think those are good estimates based on the information we’ve been given. That weight seems a little higher than I expected though. We know a DCT is a bit heavier but I thought the weight gain would be more around 200 pounds not 300 pounds. I wonder if they are adding in some form of active aero? Maybe some lessons learned from the GT.

If this hint is accurate, I'm now thinking 705HP at 4060 lbs. Was really hoping for more HP than the Hellcat, but sounds like it will be a beast regardless. Certainly cannot argue with the power to weight ratio!

That’s Essentially the same as a 2014 GT500. Which comes in at 5.8. So if your brothers source is spot on then either a slight bump in horsepower at the same weight, or slightly lower weight with the same horsepower.

2014 GT500 5.8
Hellcats are 6.3 (challenger)
ZL1 5.98
ZL1 1LE 5.92
Viper 5.2
C7 Z06 5.4
C7 Z51 7.5
991.2 GT3 6.2
997 GT2 RS 4.9
991 GT2 RS 4.7

For additional comparison I weighed my GT350 (haven’t weighed my R yet), and it came in 7.1

Power wasn't what needed to be significantly improved with the GT500. The outrage would be in producing a 750+ HP car that can't put the power to the ground on the street, handle well, or run around a track without heat soaking. The last thing I want to see is a straight line monster with no other uses.

JMO, but a new GT500 needs the handling and feel of the GT350, along with a HP bump that makes it competitive with the ZL1. Damn. Give me a GT350 with 662 usable HP and a factory warranty and I'd be happy to buy that.
