Hardly a news flash, guys.

I could see it coming some 50 years ago, and not because I wanted to see it happen.

Correct me if I’m wrong but until recently (2018) the automatics in mustangs lagged performance wise to their manual counterparts....I know way back in the Fox era the autos were dogs from the factory. Stock of course. People have been building them out for drag racing for some time.
Straight line performance no. Around a road course track having to manually switch gears maybe.

The new A10 is probably going to change this however. It should be faster in every possible way.

I'm that oddball that test drove the A10 and still went for the MT.

After my last one mt82 the auto just felt way faster and driving in traffic I will no longer care . Plus will be Prochargered and I think the auto can hold it better .

I'm even a more oddball then because I'm always in traffic too, and a lot of city driving haha.

I think we need a Safe Space for the 10 speed auto snowflakes. Remember we must not critise the 10 speed and upset the snowflakes.
Education? Criticise is the UK spelling
.

(I wasn't going to point anything out the first time.)

But with the one off-topic tangent aside, I suppose eventually we won't be allowed to make bad comments about the other guy's transmission choice any more than we can about different cylinder count now.

Why do these threads turn into "justification arguments" or worse? :D

I think by now EVERYBODY knows why they and others prefer or chose manuals or automatics. "I" or "YOU" don't need to "justify" or "question" choices. I've owned 6 Mustangs with the 7th on the way. 4 manuals and 2 automatics with the 7th being an automatic. All chosen for the usual reasons at the time with ALL having pluses and minuses for ME. ;)

Ditto for all the other topics where questions and/or FYI posts turn into arguments about who is right or wrong with their choice or priority.

Personally I'm glad that both Ford and Chevy are investing in both improved manuals and improved automatics. :)

Conversely I haven't driven either of them and still ordered an A10. Ditto for MagneRide.:D Should know in a couple of weeks whether I wasted a bunch of money by trading my 15 GT PP.;)

Without an independent professional test, there are too many variables involved to know if the 10 speed is faster. Available vehicle traction (to make use of the better ratios), how the factory tuned the transmission, etc.

We'll just have to wait and see ...

I think I must have misunderstood- you're not suggesting the 6MT might be faster than the 10A in a straight line are you?

The fact you'll have magneride and the a10 will be enough to justify the purchase, I'm pretty sure you already know you wasted a bunch of money.

Any time I trade a perfectly good Mustang in only 3 years I certainly do know I've "wasted" money. Second 3 year Mustang in a row. We do still have the 97 we bought new and my others were 5 years, 9 years, and 11 years each to the long term average is much better. :D

Wasted? Lol the 18 is definitely a improvement over 15-17
