SO i had a FRPP Stage 2 with the FRPP tune. I just recently put on the lund tune. I couldnt find any reviews comparing the two so here you are: This is on a auto 15 mustang GT with Hearthrob H pipe, Borla S types, GT350 CAI/throttle body.

FRPP: The shifts arent as firm as i would like, good and bad because they are smooth, but when full throttling it you want a little more "oomph". The mid to low range torque is great. The car runs pretty much like stock on light driving, overall i think its a good tune for a daily driver, but it feels quite conservative still and leaves a little bit to be desired. The mid-low range torque is quite nice.

Lund: Much firmer shifts. I skert tires going from 1-2, and 2-3. Its awesome. I did lose some mid to low range though, and throttle response does not seem as sharp as the FRPP tune. When shifting at high rpm the car "kicks" into the next gear and will lunge forward. It feels much faster. The car is definitely louder exhaust wise if it was a 7 before its a 8-9 now. I also notice my fans are running on high, even when its in the low 50's outside. It kind of sucks for drive thrus and i think its a little bit overkill. The car also runs smoother then the FRPP tune, and sounds meaner. This is the first time i have really thought i need to upgrade my brakes lol The acceleration is much more linear.

Overall im not quite sure i am going to keep the lund tune or not for a daily driver. My kid mentioned she dosnt feel like she is "thrown into the seat" as much as the FRPP tune did (must be that mid to low range toruque) but we both liked slipping tires into 1-2 and 2-3 gear.

I haven't data logged yet and will soon and send back to lund. Just initial impressions.

UPDATE: I sent in my data logs to lund. Asked them to put fans back to normal, and if possible soften shifts ever so slightly on mid throttle. Ill see what happens.
I also drove the Lund tune a little more to work and back today, and I really like this tune for the trans a lot. This to me is a huge improvement in driveability over the Ford Racing tune.

update: Fans were put back to normal, all was good with the data logging. This tune is miles better then the FRPP tune. I would highly suggest it even fro daily driving.

Before you go out making wot passes you should datalog and send the files to Lund to review and tweek as needed. Its an easy process and will give you the best results. Usually their first file doesnt have optimum timing in it yet.

Also you can request Lund put the fan settings back to stock if you wish, and they can modify shifts etc. If you ask they will customize things based on what you want.

Lund tunes are great tunes and I use them on my vehicles and drive them regularly as street vehicles. You can try to contact Lund via the email chain that they initially sent that tune to you and get it modified for any change you would like to have.

having an issue getting the gauge recognized by a PC it works like one in 15 tries. Updated the firmware tried two different computers and two cables same issue. You guys ran into this? Maybe I need a new gauge?

Yes i had issues too. Ended up pulling sd card out and using the adaptor it came with. Between that and the screen going out multiple times, if ngauge is better than the other handheld option, I'd hate to see how that one is. Sct, srt, whatever it is

Per the fans, yes it's annoying. Lund says they're set to turn on at 190* now, not sure what stock is. Anyone can comment on if necessary to leave them set that low? I'm assuming Lund does it for a reason

they lower them so the car runs cooler, you can always have them put them back to stock if you don't have a thermostat

Thanks gents. Beefcake bro in the future I'm buying from you just because of the great timely response and knowledge. I know others that have bought from you and were happy.

I was data logging to the unit itself with no sd card in it. I was able to get it to open and view the files a few times. It's weird. I don't think drivers but I'm sure that's possible (I'll uninstall reinstall now not a bad idea)

This post would have been objectively informative if there had been a dyno involved. I just ordered a Performance Pack 2 and will do a stock baseline followed by a post installation dyno pull. It's the only way to be sure. ;)

Wait so you put the drop stage 2 on a car that all ready had the gt350 intake manifold? Wouldn't the stage 3 have the different parameters needed for the manifold?

Yeah no dyno involved here. Just comparing FRPP stage 2 tune to Lund tune (using the stage 2 parts).

What a dyno wont give you is improved drive ability, firmer shifts, louder/meaner exhaust note etc.

The stage 2 tune from frpp was alright. Ive driven a lil more with the Lund tune and im really starting to like it. Put the Car in D on the FRPP tune, and its going to be hunting for the higher gear damn near all the time. It feels sluggish. Though the Lund tune still drives fine in D, the car is more responsive and im not in 5th gear going 40mph needing the car to downshift just to do anything. I felt it bogged the car too much with FRPP. Just my opinion and what i noticed.
I sent in my logging tonight, and asked for a few light changes from Lund and will see what i get. this is on a AUTO trans

Just stage 2. No Manifold, just the GT350 intake and Throttle body. I removed the FRPP Tune, and then put on the Lund tune. Left the parts the same. I can see how my description of parts in original post left for interpretation so i modified that to be clear.

I'm installing my PP2 tomorrow, looking forward to the added performance.
