now if only it looked like this out of the factory.
Um, that. All day. I'd buy that. I can't begin to imagine the costs in doing it though :(

So it's fast. I guess if you're after that, and going to be running 1/4s then that's a real bonus, plus with tuning the sky is the limit (I suspect the 0-62mph isn't going to change much, but the 1/4 could).

As I averaged about 12mph this morning on my commute, the noise over the speed is more important. A nice-to-have for me, but performance on a par with what I have would make no difference. Just me though, I realise!

Looks like its going to take a fair few others doing dyno's to be sure since it seems AM got their manual and its even dyno'd even higher than that auto if the numbers are to be believed.

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93021
Manuals normally do loose less through the transmission than an automatic, but Ford do claim the A10 is far more efficient than the A6 and other competing automatics.

What looks certain is it does look like Ford under rated the engine but when you think about it they changed:
- Capacity increase by nearly 100c
- Higher performance intake manifold
- Bigger inlet tube
- Compression ratio increased to match GT350
- Other internal/head changes to the engine and new coatings
- Direct injection

Now Ford advertise power went from 435HP upto 460HP, well if I did all that to my car and gained only 25HP I'd be pretty mad.

Also LMR did stage on their A10 automatic, because the 1:1 gear is 7th, they were hitting the vehicle top speed limiter at 6600rpm, so could not rev the car upto peak power which is 7000rpm with a 7500rpm limiter. So the results that LMR got (470-490HP) are actually slightly below where they should be due to not revving the vehicle out. You can clearly see on the AM's dyno graph the power jumps just past 6500rpm, of course LMR could not go past 6600rpm, so chance are the LMR car has another 10-15HP on top of what their results showed. :)

The direct injection alone should be good for 20HP and a good solid 20-30lb/ft, so I think it is fair to say Ford have being conservative.

The true picture shall be painted when manuals run the 1/4 mile to rule out the effectiveness of the A10.

But the 117mph terminal puts this far more in line with a car running 500HP crank, but of course we know the A10 could and probably is helping with that due to how quick it is and how it keeps the car exactly where it needs to be.

You watch the S650 have this exact engine but it be rated somewhere between 475-500HP, under rate it in MY18 to in S650 they can show some nice gains, though reality is a lot were already there, though of course S650 they will up the power again even if no hardware changes.

Even if ford were understating the numbers, which is by all means possible. Is this not what other euro manufacturers been doing for years?

I'm almost certain that there are >SOME< countries with laws regarding BHP such as taxing, I guess lower BHP allows a better potential sale market.

That being said, this is going to be one ugly monster, and I can not wait to see what people do styling wise. As me and gibbo have debated before, the money saved on Tribars, exhaust, etc over a stocker (assuming stock vs stock) you'd 'save' the mod pot money doing the aesthetics so it's not a big toss up (well not majorly).

OMG I just watched that video, that cluster, dem shift lights, OH MY, I don't care if its slower than the Golf, the amount of fun in that car is just exploding at the seems.

Best video yet as they show the car being driven and the dash in action, it looks super amazing and slick, loving those shift lights, shame some fool set them at 4000rpm though haha, I am guessing that was for running in and there he was revving it around to 8000rpm nearly haha, but boy does it rev cleanly. :)

This looks super nice, a lot nicer than others, but I can't figure out what is changed apart from the fact it just looks like its lowered and has PP2 wheels, am I missing something?

Different splitter it looks like, also every shot of the car from a toddlers point of view looks mean, it's when you start getting to an adults waist and up in height that it looks odd.

Thing this is a car that angles will benefit.

Now, LMR need to stop testing and make a retro fit dash for the MY15/16/17 that'd be heavenly!

Yeah but that looks super gorgeous, need to see in the flesh though as it could look much better in flesh or even worse.

Yes the dash has me super excited, seeing it in action on that production car, wow it looks way better than the Ford marketing video's showed, in fact whoever does Ford marketing should be shot, because anything Ford publish seems to look a bit pants.

Yet the stuff owners are showing, looks amazing!

PP2 is the best shots of that car ford have published. But, I maybe bias because the red really worked ;)!

I wonder who will be the first to take the engine and A10 from a MY18 and dump it in a MY15-17 (if anyone)? the Franken-550.

Looks for sure like it's got spacers on the wheels, which as we all know makes a HUGE difference to the stance and aggressiveness of the Mustang... everything Ford normally chuck out the factory usually looks like a tram with stock offsets.

Edit: What also makes a difference in that pic, as anyone into photography will probably know, is shadows... and it's highlighted a possible simple mod to improve that front end, which is that triangular shadow area under the front indicator lens which makes the vent running through to the front wheel arch look much bigger! Just a thought!

I respect personal opinion (even though its wrong) and people are entitled to there views (even though its WRONG).

I actually really like the styling (which is a good thing as I am right), so happy days (anyone disagreeing with me is wrong, but I respect it).

Well put  I really like the stock look for the my18 - it is stunning. Personally, I will always prefer my17 over my18, not because it's "better" looking but because its the image I have a connection with, and a history with.

I find it interesting that people don't like the hood though, I think the lines actually work really well, one of the best styling changes IMO;

Sorry to stray (slightly) off topic :ford: but yes, MY18 > MY17 for speed, cool factor = all Mustangs are cooler than Golfs ;)

In reality its actually growing on me.
