Hi all,
Well I ordered a 18 gt 6 speed without driving one , I had driven a ecoboost auto that my dealer had on the lot so I had an idea how the car handled and drove. I was on vacation and went by another dealership that had a 17 gt 6 speed they let me test drive and I thought it had a lot of road noise . Is it the Perelli tires on it or is it a noisy with all tires?

I mean... Mustang won't be the quietest on the road.
at low speeds, summer only tires will pick up rocks and make all kind of noise.

It could be just me, but I have never been a fan of pirelli's. I always put Michelins on my cars.

My PP Pirellis are almost silent compared to Bridgestone RE-71Rs which have LOTS of autocross runs and many thousands of street miles. :-)

Don't worry. You won't be able to hear the tires eventually over the interior rattles anyways.

I have no interior rattles...the few that developed over time were easily fixed popping the trim and adding some felt.

Summer tires are typically significantly quieter than all seasons, you should be good.

So you do have them... you just fixed them.
Lol fair enough

I’ve owned 7 new cars over the years and I’ve never had one that didn’t develop rattles I had to deal with.

Are you sure that summer tires are quieter than AS, even significantly?

You think a Mustang is loud? Has a lot of road noise?

Have you owned a Mustang before? What have you owned in the past?

Mustangs are rather known for being very quiet cars. Most owners say they're too quiet.

My current grocery getter is a Mini Cooper S , and it came with continetal runflats, it had a lot of road noise then I changed them out for nonrunflats , A lot quieter, now I put on some cheap les swaub tires and I cant hear myself think. I hope its just the tires.

What type of felt did you use? Got an Amazon link? Last time I bought some I ordered the wrong kind

I haven't driven a base GT, but the premium is fairly quite. I've driven an XLT and a Limited Expedition and the Limited seemed quieter. Does the premium get more insulation or dampening than a base model?

The mustang is way quieter than most cars I've driven. The 370z that I used to have had a lot of road noise even with summer or all season tires. With the windows up and the radio off I barely hear a thing unless I go over road imperfections.
