Have you had brake calipers powder coated before?

I just got a quote for brake calipers (all four) to be painted. The price includes bleeding the brakes, too.

The car is a 2017 Mustang GT Premium with Brembo brakes.
How much would you expect to pay?

Thanks
Ivan

$50 and a few hours

I think that's what it costs to purchase the G2 paint kit.

Quote was $1000. Another place quoted $750; however, they didn't mention bleeding the brake lines.

So, there's that...

Jeebus, for that much they better be removing them, doing a total disassembly, a really good powder coat job and doing a complete reassembly and installation.

Id personally have them powder coated, or paint them yourself, few hours time and about $15 in paint and supplies, Id use either Duplicolor caliper paint or VHT caliper paint, everyone raves about G2, but I gotta say, I think it looks like shit

That makes nooo sense. All three are paint products, one epoxy and two lesser quality materials. What do u dislike, the gloss, the mega color choices, the adhesion and durability, or the price. :headbonk:

lol what doesnt make sense? its my personal opinion that in all examples Ive seen of G2 applications, it looks as if it was laid on with an old paint brush used to paint a house 20 years ago

There u go, clarification. Ive never seen an application that lloks like what you refernced, but then again some can screw up the most basic of application methods and have a piss poor result. Kind of like someone using the vht and gettn overspray all over the car.

I updated the subject and content to thus use the correct terminology ;)

Sorry for the confusion.

Ps: one shop said it would take a week to get it powder coated. A week without my car, in Atlanta, GA? I think not...

Powdercoating is much more involving as they will have to remove the calipers to apply powder and then be baked. Anything that is not metal needs to be removed from the caliper for the baking process. You are looking at complete disassembling/assembling the calipers as well as bleeding them. I am gonna say $300-500 for 2 and more for 4.

If you can disassemble the calipers yourself, maybe you can schedule a time to get it done quick.
We powder coat metal at work, the process is not long but I would imagine they have to find time to do the assemble and disassemble.
