Umm...because I actually drive my car for what is what meant for that makes me a fictional character. Hmm well no..since I do not street race..but since we are now in the Fast n Furious world, lets say another quote:The equivalent of "Do you even lift bro?". This guy dreaming of being Dominic Toretto lmao.
"Its not how you STAND next to your car its how you RACE your car."
Yet someone else talking about something they have no clue about. Let me educate you. MY17GT350=two options: Tech pack (basically Recoro's seats, and Nav.) Convience Pack (basically leather electronics seats with heat/cold/Basic radio) ALL 17's are now TRACK PACK EQUIP as standard. Which means if you are not keeping up, I have ALL OF THE COOLERS AND EQUIPMENT A 15 or 16 TRACK PACK CAME WITH.His car is also the electronic package version...doesn't that mean it can't be tracked without going limp?![]()
Hope that help so next time you comment on a subject trying to knock someone, you can actually do it with correct facts at least.
Yet again, if you would get your head out of a magazine, you would understand what I am saying. your supposed 37,000 street car can keep up with a 60,000k TRACK CARThat's why you source multiple different magazine runs. They all have slightly different numbers, that when combined give you a very solid general idea of what a car can run. This is all objective data.
Or, you can be a straight up fanboy like Ninjak with your only comeback as "MEET ME AT THE TRACK BRAH!" who is angry that a $37,000 street car can keep up with his $60,000 track car on a drag.
As for track racing, as S550GTCS pointed out, it's all about the tires. When you match a SS 1LE against a GT350, the GT350 only wins by a couple seconds. The SS isn't even supposed to compete against the GT350 on a track, but it keeps it close. This isn't a testament to the GT350 being bad or slow in any way, but it's a testament to how good the SS actually is.
If you want a fair comparison, the ZL1 smokes the GT350 on a drag or a track, any day of the week.
Ninjak, suck on them facts, brah.![]()
with someone that does not know how to drive it. Hell I have seen Hellcats lose to slighty modded GT's and Camaro's because the HC driver could not drive.
A few secs on the the 1/4 or the Track is a lifetime...especially on a track. If I run 1:52 per lap and you run 1:56 per lap, we do 5 laps, well lets do some math. How much did you lose by ? Heck if I run 12.1@119 and you run 12.4@115 how many car lengths did you just lose by ? See these are things that people know and understand when they GO TO THE TRACK. Magazines are great. Sure. But they are just informational reading of what the car potential could be. Even the lightning laps should be taken with a grain of salt because of how they are done.
Last the mighty ZL1. Oookk. Yes its fast. Yes it can go around a track well. But now lets get into a few things. The Zl1 does a lap well. It may even do a few laps well. How does it hold up in a session ? FI vehicles, exp S/C ones tend to heat soak on a track in a 20 min session. I have not seen a Zl1 do a session against other cars as of yet, so I do not know. Now in a straight line. Of course it should be faster than a GT350. The GT350 gearing and trans + the FPC engine was built for high rev's FOR THE TRACK. Plus its down a 100HP. So sure the ZL1 would win. But put it up agaisnt a GT500 13/14 and that's a different story in the 1/4.
The ZL1-1LE would even have a harder time in the 1/4 because of its areo. Its not slow, but would it beat say a GTR in 1/4 ? A HC ? or even a 13/14 GT500 ? Probably not. Now around the track sure its a beast. But again, for a street driven car its horrid. Stiff ride, not comfortable...but what do you expect from the type of track car GM built.
To put this all back on perspective of what the OP wrote, I will say it again. All of these wonderful cars with wonderful tech. If you want your car to do certain things your going to pay for it. Is the Zl1 40k ? No. is it 50k ? nope. Its 62k+. Get a 1LE package and its 71K+. Chevy is not giving away these wonderful toys.....your paying for them. So again if you want your 18 Mustang to hang, then you will need to pay. If you want your 17 to hang, then your going to need to mod. But that, is a different tale for a different day.
Hope that was enough FACTS
