Magazines are never apples to apples comparisons. They have different drivers running in different conditions. It is hard enough to run a semi controlled study on the same track and the same day. I know, because I have blown over $200k of a testing budget on this sort of thing. The only way you see real results is with many more data points.
That's why you source multiple different magazine runs. They all have slightly different numbers, that when combined give you a very solid general idea of what a car can run. This is all objective data.

Or, you can be a straight up fanboy like Ninjak with your only comeback as "MEET ME AT THE TRACK BRAH!" who is angry that a $37,000 street car can keep up with his $60,000 track car on a drag.

As for track racing, as S550GTCS pointed out, it's all about the tires. When you match a SS 1LE against a GT350, the GT350 only wins by a couple seconds. The SS isn't even supposed to compete against the GT350 on a track, but it keeps it close. This isn't a testament to the GT350 being bad or slow in any way, but it's a testament to how good the SS actually is.

If you want a fair comparison, the ZL1 smokes the GT350 on a drag or a track, any day of the week.

Ninjak, suck on them facts, brah. :headbang:

Cool Meme Brah.....

But I stand by what I said. Better yet, what do YOU run in your car ? Have you ever been to the track even ? I ask because people hell bent on what car n driver does in a car usually never do anything in their own.
The equivalent of "Do you even lift bro?". This guy dreaming of being Dominic Toretto lmao.

Wait a minute....let me get this right. The SS 1le "keeps it close" being 1.66 seconds slower than the gt350 (around laguna http://www.motortrend.com/cars/mclaren/570/2016/2016-motor-trend-best-drivers-car/)...

And the Zl1 "smokes" the gt350 when it is only 0.39 seconds quicker around willow (http://www.motortrend.com/cars/ford...s-2017-ford-mustang-shelby-gt350r-review/amp/).

Huh?:headbonk:

That's the R, and on stickier rubber.

If we are comparing MT times for the R and the ZL1 1LE on Laguna the R runs 1:36.11 and the ZL1 1LE runs 1:34:30. Either way, very impressive from both pony cars.

Yes, and that's the only GT350 everyone is talking about. All of the published magazine times are for the R.

As for stickier tires, aren't we comparing cars off the showroom floor, not modified? The ZL1 has a supercharger while the gt350 does not. Not fair I tell you!

OK, congrats the GT350R, which is Ford's ultimate track mustang beats Chevy's street camaro SS.

I'm a fanboy of fast cars, not brands. You sound like a ford fanboy yourself.

Indeed I am, I can recognize bullshit comments when I see them though. Ignorance knows no brand loyality.

Bullshit comments amount to saying an SS is faster than a GT PP, and that an SS 1LE runs close to a GT350? Note that there was never any mention of the R by DUMPWEED. Let's be real GT PP < SS < SS 1LE ≈ GT350 < GT350R < ZL1 < ZL1 1LE.

In my line of work, a sample size <10 isn't even statistically significant. Only 2 data points were presented, which is why I think it is fair to call that a poor comparison. Both cars are very fast, but I wouldn't say we have enough information from magazines to call one faster than the other.

FYI, a GT350 is a street car. A $55k street car. And the Camaro is realistically a $45k street car. Both are a great value compared to all the other cars at that level.

Yes, that's what I said. It will smoke any current, past or present, GT. It will also keep up with the current GT350.

2016 Camaro SS:
Car and Driver: 12.3 sec @ 116
MotorTrend: 12.4 sec @ 114.6

2016 Mustang GT350:
Car and Driver: 12.5 sec @ 119
MotorTrend: 12.4 sec @ 117.8

So there you have it. I have actual facts, you have "SHOW UP AT THE TRACK, BRO". Please quote me where I said it will beat a GT350.

I am objective here, while you are the fanboy. That's cool though, you do you.
And the magazine racer of the week award goes to......:first:

Your bullshit comment.

Maybe I should have used a different term than bullshit, as at least bullshit has a use.
