Almost 60K for Loaded 2018 GT

I would imagine like all other non-special edition mustangs it will not hold its value well. Just wait a few years and a get a near new one for half the price. Hell mine went from 42k at MSRP (36k actual cost) to an estimated value of 28k on kbb in a year and a half and it has low miles and is in like mint condition.

The higher volume the sale the lower it should hold its value. More people out there selling and there for selling lower to move the vehicle quicker.

Interested on why you think it is not a $50K car? Not agreeing or disagreeing but this is something I have heard a lot but no real reason behind it except that its "just a Mustang". Since real perfromance tests have not come out on the 2018's how can you already conclude that it is not worth $50K?

Because there are other cars in that bracket I would be looking at around that price range, one being a Shelby GT350. The Camaro was laughed at for the price bracket its in, and now the Mustang has reached the same price bracket.

Granted. But we still do not know the performance potential of the 2018 versus the two options above so if the Mustang is close in performnace to either one, which is very possible, then it may validate the higher price.

Ford doesn't simply throw a dart against a board and decide to make a $50K+ mainline Mustang. They have likely analyzed sales data from 2015 until now and decided that the majority of cars sold were more heavily optioned.

0-60 in under 4 seconds was once reserved for cars starting in 6 figures. My guess is that once the "new" wares off, base '18 Mustangs will be able to be bought in the low $30's, which will be a screaming bargain for the performance available.

Yea, I just priced out a loaded GT Premium Convertible, and was unhappy at the $58.6K sticker. :faint: The "plan" doesn't have the 2018 Mustangs yet so I don't know what I am really look at paying.

This is about double what my current loaded GT Premium Convertible was stickered at. :shocked: I guess I need to stop and buy a few more PowerBall tickets on the way home.

LOL....you just described 99.9% of all vehicles on the road. Check the 2 year depreciation on vehicles much more expensive than a Mustang..... BMW, Mercedes, Range Rover, etc.....fall like rocks.

Subaru is probably the only brand car that I've owned were depreciation doesn't shit the bed. I lost 7k on my WRX from the time I bought it new until the time I sold it with 58k miles in 2 years. My GT is already down 10k with 20k miles. At least us base PP owners didn't take quite the hit as a premium.

I guess I'm an idiot for paying $36900 for my $44,750 MSRP 2017 GT Premium.

If you can't see that Ford jacked up the price unreasonably on the packages and options and actually made them worse to put together, you are blind.

I would certainly wait for the hype to die down and the discounts to start before grabbing a 2018. Besides, they're releasing it in Winter which is still beyond me.
