Sorry to be pedantic, but I live in England..

Lubrication, young Manderling. As you get older you'll understand the importance.

Also, warmer weather results in more push from the 'hood' (bonnet) struts so more pressure need to close. Simples.

Not yet couldn't be arsed. Need to have a look how you "adjust it up"

Mine had exact same issue. Lubrication did nothing. I ended up taking it to the dealer and they adjusted the latch as a no-charge warranty claim. They said the latch was off center to the hood striker.
