Redline hood struts for hood deployment

I'm off to America in the next couple of days so getting my order in from CJ

Have never noticed these hood struts before

They are designed for cars with hood deployment. I know there were a few out there not happy to fit hood struts due to them not being compatible with the hood deployment.

Nice find, but I think Ian had hood struts and the bonnet deployed even with them on so wouldnt worry too much about a 'specially designed one' if the mark up is high - which there isn't so worth getting as they're the same price anyway; and for non dom US cars (aka ours)

Yeah just had normal redline hood struts, bonnet deployed fine

Hi,

My jag had a deployable bonnet and struts so there shouldn't be a problem.
The picture in the manual describing the bonnet is the front of a Jag XF?!

I have ordered them any way so will see what the difference is. Although I made a mess of the order and it defaulted to delivery state New Hampshire instead of Florida! I only notice when confirmation came in. Hope they can sort it easily enough.

Give them a call or an email, they'll pick it up before the order is even set up and shipped anyway !

I think they are modded to fit our hinges (as with the modified Steeda struts) as they are slightly different, rather than anything to do with deployment mechanism. (ably tested by Chef [MENTION=15204]Ian whu[/MENTION])
