Has Ford improved A/C reliability in the new Mustangs?

Recently had the compressor replaced. Nowadays, the AC occasionally, intermittently blows uncooled air for a little bit, in the middle of a drive, resumes cooling, and sporadically repeats this cycle. When it becomes a little more irritating, I'll take it in—I can't bear not driving this car even for one day, warts and all, two years and 27K mi in.

Recently (past 2 months) there are a bunch of reported A/C failures on the 15/16. I had mine refilled/charged again 2 weeks ago and for now it's still working. I'm not sure how long Ive been driving with the tank being empty as I usually use it as heater in the winter. Only noticed it late April when it was hot outside and the low setting only blew hot air.

I had an '11 GT premium with the brembo package, traded it last August on the S550. A/C on it worked flawlessly, not any hiccups at all with it. In fact the car was never back to the dealer for anything as I do my own service. So far the new car has been the same.

how many miles on the old car? im at almost 80k in 6.5 years. i want an 18 but money is tight due to changing jobs. i am surprised you never replaced any of the blend door actuators as i have had 2 fail now.

If the core is leaking you will see condensation on the windshield when the windshield vents are not on.. mine was fogging up big time, the AC was working fine tho so I just chalked it up to high humidity here at night.. (it's damn near 100% humidity and 90 degrees year round)

But yeah, eventually you'll notice the drivers side AC vents blowing warmer than the passenger side then it will stop blowing cold completely.

Condensation on outside or inside of the windshield? I've had plenty of vehicles where if interior AC is cold enough, condensation accumulates on the OUTSIDE of the windshield, not inside.

Please clarify, otherwise some S550 owners will go into panic mode... LOL

what are the telltale signs of a bad evap core?

The symptoms for me were that it started blowing hot air out the driver side, and cool air out the passenger side. Within a few hours it was only blowing hot air. It presented at first like it was the dual zone actuator going bad, but that wasn't the case.

Inside mostly.. it's noticeable, it's not like normal condensation all over the glass, like I said I didn't think much of it because it never occurred to me that the AC on my new-ish $28k car was failing Lol..

The best way to tell tho would be testing the drivers side vent vs the passenger side.. the drivers side started blowing lukewarm at first, then the center vents then the drivers side vent just started blowing hot air.. the far right passenger vent still stayed semi-cool.

Have an appointment today to drop my off at the dealer. The cold passenger side hot driver side problem, not to mention the horrific smell inside from the oil. Not looking forward to the dash being ripped out. 8500 miles.

Not to derail the topic but my question involves the a.c..

When I have the a.c. on periodically my vacuum pressure drops by 2. Example: sitting idling with the ac on the vacuum pressure drops from 20 to 18. When sitting in traffic it becomes annoying as I'm driving 5-10 mph modulating the throttle and then I loose some vacuum pressure and rpms slightly drop and car jerks slightly but then instantly recovers. I do not have a vacuum leak I'm aware of but I'm guessing every time the compressor kicks on it needs a little vacuum or something.

Can anyone tell me if this is a normal operation of the a.c. or possibly I have an issue? Thanks

The A/C on my 2000 Mustang has never been serviced and still blows colder than an eskimo hooker. For shame that they have gotten worse with time.

Mine works, but doesn't get very cold. Same thing with the cooled seats, I hear a fan or something in there but don't feel much on my butt.
