AWE Touring Catback - Cabin Loudness?

I am considering pulling the trigger for the AWE Touring Catback for my 2015 Mustang GT PP. I currently have the FRPP Touring Catback, and don't like the drone/hum between 2000 - 2500 RPMs plus it is a little raspy for my taste.

I am interested to know, for those who have installed the AWE touring system,
those that feel the AWE Touring is too loud in the cabin when cruising at 60-75 MPH on the freeway - I have seen a few posts that indicate the system is louder than expected and not desirable.

Also I'd like to hear from anyone that move from the FRPP Touring Catback to the AWE Touring Catback - and how the two systems compare.

+1 AWE Touring Cat-back System. I have no drone and do constant driving on the highway between 60-80MPH. I have nothing but good things to say about the system and have never had an issue with the sound. Cabin noise is acceptable and does not get in the way of conversations between driver and passenger, mind you this is with the windows up. If you're driving 60-80MPH with the windows down then it's a different story with many factors coming into play. I went with AWE because it's an H pipe and I didn't want the raspiness of an X pipe. I however cannot comment on the FRPP as I've never owned it. Hmm....have I replied to you in another thread?

No drone and as you can hear in the video. It can potentially be very loud or very quiet, depending on how you drive.

No drone and is quiet when cruising at constant speed. However louder than I expected inside and out whenever you're on the gas. Was not the system for me as a daily driver with much stop and go driving. I feel calling the system Touring is a bit misleading, sport would be more appropriate.

Ill second this. Going around town is boomy on the inside. Not drone but there is a boom or pressure that enters the cabin. Once youre above 50mph and are cruising it goes away. But stop to stop, even with windows open, you hear the inside noise more than the outside exhaust. Its a shame as it does sound good on the outside and we waited for a while for its big reveal. For me (I also DD) this was a deal breaker.

I wouldn't say obnoxiously loud but it has a presence to it that you have to be ok with. if you can hear one in person i would do it.

Agree, it was louder than expected but I like it and I will keep mine. Most of my driving is highway so it is quiet most of the time, but get on the gas and roooaaarrr...

I daily mine and have had it on for a week. At first I thought it was really loud but I've adjusted I think. I leave around 6:00 Am to go to work and have asked my neighbors if they hear or are annoyed with the car as I drive through the neighborhood and the handful I have asked say that don't hear me or, in the case of my next door neighbors, they can barley hear me take off out of the drive way.

Inside I do not find it loud at all. I had a 2015 Camaro SS/ 1LE with the dual mode exhaust and that car to me had a booming sound (The AWE not at all).

With the AWE, if you throttle it everywhere you will hear it. If you daily drive in stop and go traffic and are not trying to out accelerate the guy next to you to the next red light with windows up and AC on (I live in SE FL so that is how I roll lol) then you will hardly notice that you have a cat-back.

If you could ride in a car with this set up I would do it before you decide. I have been really surprised with this system. Comparatively, I have ridden in the same car with CORSA touring (raspy to me) and Borla touring (which I think is pretty much the same as the FRPP???) that droned; however, it had cat'ed longtubes so I don't know if that really counts.

i thought the touring edition was going to be too quiet for me, thats why i went with the track edition and i have catless longtubes and i daily it 75 miles a day :lol:

it does drone quite a bit, and by quite a bit, i mean a lot, but i tune it out with the radio, its such a deep sounding exhaust though so i mean what would you expect, my girlfriend said it hurts her ears though :shrug:

i love obnoxiously loud v8's though, the stock exhaust sounds like a prius and like the car is being choked, open that thing up!

coming from a roush with x pipe set up, the track is much much quieter and tame.

Happy to read this. I get my track edition installed tomorrow and plan on going catless LTs in the future.

youll love it man ! it sounds great, never heard it before longtubes so i cant comment on that, but i put up a cold start video on the AWE thread on here if you wanna hear it, havent got around to making a rev/driving vid yet.

Is anyone on here running the Touring or the Track with catless long tubes that can provide an example ? Looking for a way to hear the tone difference. Love the sound of the H pipe without long tubes on both kits.
