Looking for the best tune for 87 octane. I'm a cheap SOB and don't want to spend the extra $5 per gas tank for 91 octane.

Want the Ford performance pack but I hate the thought of using premium gas only.

What is the best tune for 87 octane?

Thanks in advance and please keep the flaming to a minimum. I know I'm cheap and this doesn't even exactly make sense.

Stock tune. It's already adaptive from 87-93 in regards to timing. It's only going to add to the point of knock and then start pulling. You'll make more power switching to 93 on stock file then you would trying to tune on 87.

If you're not willing the pay the extra money for 91 or 93 - I don't see a point in a tune or trying to make any more power of any sort. To get anything more out of it you will need to run higher octane fuel. If I were you I would consider putting better fuel in this type of car buts that is only one man's opinion.

Ford even rates the power output of the engine using 93 octane fuel. So you won't be getting the stated 435 crank hp with 87 octane. I've heard only 1% less but I don't believe it. Even when I was on stock tune- I felt a difference running higher octane. With a tune a lot more. Not only do I always run 93 octane or E85 but I only buy at reputable stations. I'm not gonna put cheap gasoline in an engine like this. But that's just me -not trying to flame you.

To be honest if you wanted a tune for 87 you should have bought an ecoboost but then again with the great gas mileage the eco gives you could have afforded to put 93 in the tank. Just saying.

Not willing to pay extra for the octane, but willing to shell out a couple hundred for a tune... Hmmm

Stay stock until you're ready to pay a little more for gas is what I'd suggest.

In Canada we don't have 93, we have either 94 or 91. Will this be an issue running a 93 tune?

There is only 91 octane in my area. I want the flexibility to use either 87 or 91. Have having to pay that little extra for gas
