I have gotten early word from some unnamed Ford employees that Lincoln will officially get the RWD car they deserve and it will share its platform with our beloved Mustang. Also, a member of a focus group has confirmed that a Lincoln, possibly not the RWD one in question, will receive suicide doors and styling unlike anything ever seen before. Stay tuned, folks.

Hrm interesting news! Can't say I've looked paid any attention ever to Lincoln but will be interesting to see a RWD model based on Mustang platform. And with suicide doors?! ... wild on a Lincoln :)

Thanks for sharing. Hope this isn't just a Ford salesman who gave the info tho :D

No, just an avid enthusiast who just happens to know a few engineers. :D

I know I'm going to be drooling over this once it debuts! The MKZ is really nice, but I want to see something that really puts Lincoln back on the map.

Hopefully the MKC will be it. It's apparently supposed to be jam-packed with tech and interesting features. I can't wait to see it. It will be Wolff's first design he has made from scratch, unlike the MKZ where he still had a design language to work with.

You serious??? Does this mean it will lose the two part grille? I think it looks fine, but I know a lot of people hate it. Or I guess it could be the rumor I heard that FWD vehicles will get that grill while RWD vehicles will get a new one.

Seriously, who knows at this point.

I always loved the two-part grille too. Especially in the MKX... drooooool! :D

Oh, I know! There's a black one I always see around my house, and it looks stunning! We'd probably get one, but they are more than my dad wants to spend right now. It could be a possible replacement for the truck in a few years though.

Good business practices is to stretch multiple and distinctive top hats over shared expensive running bits. This is good for Ford as a car company, Mustang as a model (more volume) and Lincoln as a brand (new product).

Someone said, it may have been you, that the MKS is going RWD. Have you heard anything like that? And is Lincoln's exclusive RWD platform still being made?

Get a 2013 Taurus Limited AWD in black... YUUUUUUMMMM SEX.

I do love that, but a 2012 is much more likely, and I like it better anyway. There's a small chance we might get this one because it has a ton of cash on the hood (over $5000). It's exactly how I would option one out, except I'd rather have red.

The platform is still currently under development as far as I know. The MKC is going to be this trick Audi A3-like competitor, as you have actually found out. With the Taurus going to a stretched Fusion platform for the next generation, the timing could not be any more perfect for the MKS to go RWD. Remember, Ford said that lincoln is going to have seven models in the next few years.

MKC
MKZ
MKS
MKX
MKT/Aviator
Navigator
And then something. Ford is working (slowly) on a GT successor, maybe Lincoln might get a tarted-up version? LF-A Competitor maybe?
