As part of my deal, the dealer has agreed to include a full size spare. I'm sure it won't be a performance pack rim/pzero. But what are the dimensions of the tire/rim that will fit over any of the calipers and inside the wheel well on a GT w/PP?

Thanks

The factory spare will fit on the rear only on a PP car. There is no factory PP spare.
For a front flat, you will need to move the rear tire to the front (plus a 5mm spacer, I believe) and then the spare on the back.

How convenient!

I read that Paul from PK Auto Design is working on a spare option for PP.

I ordered the spare tire, not really full size, but close. I have 20 x 9.5 wheels and if I get a flat, I will need to move a rear to the front. my car is a GT/CS Auto, but I bought Bembo brakes forgetting about the spare tire issue. That's OK, because the drilled and slotted rotors with the 20" black spyder wheels look great.

I understand that there are no factory designated spare tires for the GT w/PP from Ford. But what I'm asking is, aside from them giving me another PP wheel/tire which I don't see happening...what would the specs need to be so the setup 1) Clears all 4 calipers, 2) Fits in the wheel well (installed on hub) and 2) does not screw up the differential?

Thanks

You are not going to screw up the diff and there is no option from Ford that will work because the spare will not fit over the larger front brakes. A PP wheel with a tire will not fit in the spare tire well. Some people have modified a Hyundai wheel to fit, but not sure what Hyundai application fits the Mustang.

Sounds like a typical car dealer, telling you what you want to hear and then after you are committed can't deliver what was promised.

Then he'll adjust the price or we don't have a deal!

In the post you quoted I recognized there is no Ford option. I'm just looking for size/specs for the tire and rim. I have a hard time believing that the wheels/tires on the performance pack cars are the only ones that will fit. Certainly some other brand makes the same size/specs.

I bought a replica PP front wheel from American Muscle and put on a cheap tire in the stock front size.

It fits the spare well snugly, but sticks up about 3" beyond the trunk floor. Works for me until there is a better option.

I remember talking in another thread with you over a year ago. I could have sworn you posted the link for the wheel/tire combo you bought in another thread. Now I can't find it.

I'm pretty sure it was at american muscle but now I can't find the tire/wheel combo on their site.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Here's the wheel I used, tire was an off-brand thing I bought off eBay in the stock front size, good enough for a spare.

And I'm having a hell of a time finding it!! I checked tire rack, american muscle, cj's, etc. Nothing!

Some sell it in sets of 4's but not individually. But I KNOW I've seen it sold per wheel with a mounted and balanced tire on it under $300 shipped.

We have a spare that fits in Australia - have a look at the Ozzie site. Tempe Tyres Sydney supply it. I'm sure with the favorable exchange rate it would be an option.
