I have for along time been saying the imrc's valves have been causing issues with the pc systems, some guys are still having problems and not saying this is their answer. My newest revision Jon made some changes to cam timing and also asked me to vent my imrc vaccum line to atmosphere instead of into the inlet tube.He said at higher rpms when the blower is really moving air this vaccum line senses the negative pressure and the solenoids are denergized and this causes the valves to start to close causing high rpm hp loss.I think this was SOME!!!! of the problem people were having with flat hp after 6500 rpm and some other issues i will keep to myself for now.

Correct standard on all models, small butterfly valves running down both sides of the intake manifold.Used to gain tq at lower rpms.

Thanks for the feedback I'm willing to try anything at this point. So you only have the imrc tube venting to the atmosphere and the rest of the lines regularly? Please keep us updated if you find any more info.

Correct, vent the imrc to atmosphere,u will have to block off wheir the line went into the intake tube wheir it orginally vented into.I will let u guys know any changes after i download the new tune and change how the imrc valves vent.

Lund told me the same thing recently when I had a tune added for my Vortech. I had the line previously running to my JLT intake.

Yet another reason to go to crank case filters for me so I can ditch all the lines running everywhere. Doing this today!

Not my DD either so I am not too worried, also I run catless headers so it couldn't get any worse lol. I haven't heard of any complaints of fumes though.

I think it is JLT that is making the oil filter crankcase filter now too, I would assume it wouldn't be too bad if there were opening up that port with a filter now as well.

Have you dyno'ed before and after and seen a change?

I can say that I have tried it both ways, and seen no change personally.
But hey, then again we don't seem to really see the fad that badly here.
(no more then any other Centri, or Turbo car)

Interesting to see your dyno results.
To see if they are different.

No i have not,and could give two shits about a dyno.Me and othef members are having drivabilty issues that U and some other tuners caint figure out, period!!!!.Evidently Jon has seen something in my logs that he asked me to do this and log again. And if u know how those valves work in which i do,u know its a good possibilitly that this could cause the valves to partley close at high rpm.Im sure.Maybe work on fixing other members issues before giving your 02 on this subject.

Woah,

All I was saying is that you are telling people on the forum to change something. Yet nothing in your post actually talks about it doing something.
(AKA proof... dyno, or track, or other wise)

Just seems before 50 people go run out and change something, there should be some proof that its a good idea to do.

The reason that vent line is run to the filter, is so that no dirt and debris gets into the line, and harms the system. If a person wants to unhook it, and put a filter on it, they can and it will be just like how some turbo kits do it. (Other turbo kits have it run to the same place we do)

Maybe work on fixing other members issues before giving your 02 on this subject.
Woah....

You realize I have tuned plenty of S550's
With every single power adder currently. (roots, screw, centri, turbo)

I currently have not seen this vent line do ANYTHING on the cars I have had in person. No matter if they are Centri or Turbo... thats all I am saying.
Don't have to yell at me about it.

The turbo cars have the worst drop off.
The procharger cars don't really drop off that bad.
The GT350 procharger cars don't drop off at all. (there is the interesting one)

So one of these days, I will get the time to do the GT350 manifold swap.
Change literally nothing in the tune, and see the effect.

With travel these days all over the US, its had to get a free moment to actually get to do the swap. But when I do, I will post results.

NOTE: I believe all members that had tune issues are taken care of at this point, by either updates.. or the few that chose to do custom tunes based on their modifications, or personal choice

NOTE: I have seen some "tunes" from others that have both parked the cams in the "0" position, (and yup, power tanks because of it) As well as turned off the knock sensors, to try and mask the power loss (yikes thats scary) So there are some super sketchy things being done... Neither of those are good ideas, nor something I would do.

NOTE: I have mechanically zip tied the valves "open" vs letting the computer run them, and have never seen a change. (even video taped it, to watch them) But then again, never cared much since when runing good summer fuel here the power kept climing to 7,300 with no major drop off. I just did it to see if the valves moved at all, and they didn't, at least not on the cars I tested

First off i did not tell anyone to do anything,i shared what lund ask me to do after viewing my logs.Looking at logs is way informative then looking at a dyno.Again most guys on this thread i believe are smart enough to not leave a vaccum line, vented or not out in the open but again i did not tell them how to vent it.I said clearly in my post that this (COULD)be an issue (SOME) are having.Im not a tuner but i am a l1 certified mechanic with over 25 years,so i just dont throw a
out bullcrap or hearsay.Maybe u dont see it on the cars u guys have had their, but does not mean its not a problem.I was not revising my tune for more power, contrary i was telling Jon if all checked out i was happy with my tune.I can send u the email he sent, which stated excatly what i posted. As far as tuners locking out cam timing and turning off knock sensors, has nothing to do with what i posted.Track times mean something to me not dyno's,unless its just for fun.

For the record i was not saying this was a pc fault,i used pc because that is what system i have and have no idea how other kits run the vent.Has nothing to do with pc.U guys are not the only ones how run the vent line like this,so it was not a shot at procharger. Also in my opinion that line was not meant to see the negative pressure it sees under boost.
