So I thought I'd make this thread since I know several of us run the 1/2 mile and it may become a good thread for info and for us to power adder guys to bounce ideas off each other in regards to speeds, fuel etc! Hope the mods don't mind?

With this said I'm looking forward to the wannagofast 1/2 mile in May, in Charlotte, NC. Hopefully going to get a carbon driveshaft, bigger Ice tank and a smaller pulley on race fuel to see what it will really do! Anyone else going to this one?

With 750whp and 3.73 gears, I topped out at 160 in 5th before end of 1/2 mile and shifting to 6th was useless. I'll probably swap to 3.31 next year.

I'm doing the mile soon and switching to 3.15 gears. Hoping for cool weather!

Very cool, what kind of mph do you expect to run?

What tires/wheels are better suited for these 1/2 mile events. I don't think my 17 racestars with mt et street r and skinnies up front are the best option lol. Planning on go to my first one in about two weeks. Thanks guys

ET street is fine. Just run a good speed/load rated front tire.
Running factory Pirellis. Traction won't be an issue at the start. Roll into it and then smash it!

Nice that should be doable! What are your mods?
Roush Phase
Roush exhaust
MAK cat deletes
Lund tuned
Manual car, stock MT82

Some of these are upcoming, prior to event.

Should be fun!

Anyone doing any aero mods? Thinking about a front splitter and gt350 track pack spoiler but not sure if it would slow me down?

And a fun 1/2 mile video...

There's something so satisfying about seeing a 30k car with probably 10k worth of mods run away from a Lambo. Even if it's still a Mustang and their driving a Lambo...
