the speculation on power numbers are impressive, but i agree on the looks side, the concept is not great...

While it needs a little work, I like that a lot more than the current Z.

i think the design is supposed to get its inspiration from the original z cars. i can see what they are going for but too many harsh pointy angles at the front for me.

That concept looks awful, I hope that isn't the path they're taking. It's even worse than that new Supra concept.

Having said that, it's about time for a new Z. I didn't even bother test driving one when I was shopping for my Mustang, both because it's so long in the tooth and so overpriced. I don't think I saw one on a lot that MSRP'd for less than 33 or 34k. Not worth it for an old chassis, less power than a Mustang or Camaro and a very spartan interior.

Clean up all the crap body lines between the wheels and it would be pretty sweet.

I think the Supra concept looks great.

It's obvious they're going for a 240/270Z look in this..that really long hood/short deck shooting brake-esque vibe.

It won't make it into production looking like that..afterall the Scion FRS went from this:

To this:

I dont think 500 hp will work. I feel like it would step on a little bit and i mean a little bit of the GTR toes. Glad they are updating it. Long in the tooth on the Z

Not if they plan on bumping the GTR up. And GTR will still have the benifit of AWD among many other features the Z will not have.

I'd be interested. I did eat up at AMP a NISMO 370Z the owner had decked out. Point being, I need those to match up to their price in performance. If they do, I'll look into a Japanese FE/RWD for my next car, especially given my Ford woes. Literally off-roaded my second car, a 1997 Nissan Altima that already had 120K on it, and it went for another 80K before it started having shifting issues, and then went another 30K before it was donated (and probably crushed). Never a rattle inside. :)

I like the early Z vibe. I do like the current 370Z and almost bought one.

Yup..the Z cars have always been pretty good looking...the 300ZX was a bit funky though.

The 370 is a very attractive sports coupe..my fiance who doesn't typically like that style of car really really likes the 350/370.

I still miss my 1990 300ZX. That car broke styling ground, in my opinion, at the time of its introduction.
