Found this article. I'm not sure if it will require another update to Sync or if it even happens knowing Ford, but it does sound interesting. If it doesn't require a usb connection to run, this could be nice for those without nav that don't want to use AA/CarPlay for whatever reason.

I saw that sygic article it didnt work with sync 3, it was only a dream so I didnt post it

I have the exact same issue. On mine, if you pick up your phone and open the app, it finds the location and it works with SYNC. However, every time you start the car, I need to do it again. This is a software issue, not something we are doing wrong. For now, I will only engage the app if I need weather info due to storms in the area. Hopefully they will fix it soon.

This is very disappointing to say the least! What limits the apps that CarPlay uses?
I would convert from MFT to sync 3 in a second if Waze was an option.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the hold up is. I know that when it is available, it will be what is on my display 95% of the time.

Crap, I was just starting to look into Sync 3 to use Apple CarPlay. I thought you could use almost any iPhone app but mostly just wanted to use Waze. Oh well...
