Grabber Blue Mustang GT -ordered 22/5/16
The guy who detailed my car has a video of a grabber blue with the usual shocking overspray. He has a few good comments that ford should listen too.

That video was amazing, got me very excited for mine to get here. Crazy about the black spots on the paint and the underseal on the wheels. It's going to be agonising waiting for my own detail to get done!

Just had first year service, and noticed on the service check list the description listed in the "Under Vehicle" section:

"Underbody: check condition of PVC coating"

Is that imping the underseal is PVC :eyebulge: or am I missing something?

Probably stands for Plastic, Very Cheap rather than, Polyvinyl chloride

Right. I've been quick enough to moan about the whole underseal thing, so credit where credit is due - underseal has been done this week.

And not just that, but I also actually received the level of overall service you'd expect. Joy. So to keep a balanced approach I shall name names.

Well done Furrows in Telford. The admin/organisation was spot on, the work was done on time and well and the service department carried out the 12 month service without having to delay everything while they ordered parts. It was the polar opposite of my previous experiences with a more local dealer, who I won't embarrass by naming again - but rhymes with Heaven's Hacksaw (Dudley Rd, Wolverhampton).

I shall also put something in the 'Ford Experience' thread.

Gotta say, my service when booking the underseal was amazing, got to meet the guys who worked on it and the mustang technitian they had there who loved my car and wanted to talk to me about mods etc, then had head of sales ask about setting up a meet there etc etc. So got my trust back on that ;)! Underseals holding up it looks whilst I was under there. It's some right digusting shit though lol.

My car is booked in at a specialist company on 30 & 31 January here in NL.

The bill will be paid directly by Ford. The estimate is for about €800.

This is not in any way related to the S550 as the Navara has a ladder chassis which is probably given a micro thin layer of electro plated paint.

My 2011 Defender is starting to show signs of surface rust on the chassis welds as it has this same thin paint. Pretty disgusting when you consider I waxoyled it from new. Yes TT, I stripped it and rebuilt it from new, just like my S197.

The shell of the S550 is like most new cars I'm sure, with a Galv dip followed by a zinc rich primer which is very tough, that's the yellow brown stuff you see underneath.

A lot of today's modern cars don't have underseal and some have it applied in vulnerable stone chip areas, not all over the exhaust!!

May I ask what colour that primer is? The primer you see is actually an anti corrosive coating. If that super tough skin is not broken the metal beneath will not rust.

If you look for post #957 from this thread (post number is on top right of each post) you will see the photos taken by ford and sent to warranty.

You sound like you know what your talking about so will be good to get your opinion.

Why did they just underseal the exhaust?
