Official: 2018 Ford Mustang Refresh Detailed! (Options/Features, Specs, Photos, Info)

It's pretty amazing on how much stuff Ford has changed in the 2018 model. Not only looks, but all the mechanical and electrical and some pretty cool new options. After reading all the info so far, I'd say the 2018 is going to get way more love then what it seems to be getting so far.

Big question is, what's a fully loaded version going to cost now?

The 18 should have taken a few more cues from the 350 and the 350 should have taken cues from the GT... this is just some BS Mazda Miata make over... I'm trying hard to like it because I love the engine, suspension and exhaust upgrades, as well as the digital dash.

That front fascia though...

I don't get the headlight shape at all, and the bottom of the front fascia being higher than the body of the car bugs me.

Nothing about the new look is good. Suburu called and wants their rice spoiler back. And Honda called and wants their front Civic bumper back.
Nice mechanical changes. But, I am out. Hopefully they dont F up the S650. Something tells me if Fields is still around its going to get worse.

Are you seriously saying the, most likely optional, spoiler is anywhere close to the look or size of the one found on a STI? Other than the fact it is on the front of the car and below the headlights, the bumper has no resemblance to the civic bumper. In fact, the 2015-2017 bumpers have a much closer resemblance.

I agree I would have liked more 350 cues too... Glad I have one.

I don't love the front. The sharp angles forming all the awkward triangles. The nose over hangs too much to my eye. Maybe that is why I like black. It hides some of the out of place angles to me.

But as a whole I think it's a lot better than my initial thoughts.

I like a lot of the performance upgrades. The digital console. Ford seems to be bringing more to the table in those regards. And that's a good thing.

I'm betting these changes are a small dose of what is to come when the S650 comes out in a few years.

I highly doubt the average mustang buyer will even notice or care. It's only us enthusiasts who are really passionate about our cars.

With all the options, and now few things +not+ being mutually exclusive (like transmissions), I bet it can get pretty high - just consider a car optioned like this:


Mustang with Premium Package
Sync3 / Nav / Shaker / ACC
LCD dash
Perf Package
10-Speed automatic
Active Exhaust
Mag Suspension
Recaro seats


So a MY17 Premium Coupe, PP, 401a, Recaro is about $45K, now add a 10-speed auto transmission, $1200 (current 6-speed auto, 10-speed may be more like 1400-1500), digital dash $750?, Mag suspension $1000-1200? Active exhaust $750?

That's about $48-49K for really loaded Coupe[?]

but you can have that now...since 2015 with roush active and it runs off your phone and has geofencing to auto silence itself when it detects your coming into a destination and you need it quiet...

that picture is the exact reason why i cringe over it. then i'll see it at another angle and go hmmm i like it. then I see that pic again and I'm like WTF is that!

Exactly. you want to like it so you convince yourself it doesn't look that bad.
But then you catch that picture and those weird angles make you go :rant:

The front aside. I think a lot of the other updates are right on.

Now let's see the Convertible, GT500 and any special edition cars.
