Auto isn't irrelevant. Look at the Camaro with it. It's not irrelevant at all especially for track guys.

The exhaust is great for those that don't care about modding their cars which is the majority of buyers. Having the best of both worlds here (quiet or loud) is great.

Add in the much better suspension (basically the previous PP) and that solves all the soft/rolling issues.
Auto is very irrelevant when such a huge portion of 5.0 cars are manuals.

Look at the piles of stock GT exhaust's laying around on ebay and on this forum that people can't give away. Very few people keep stock exhausts on a 5.0. It's practically a war crime to not unleash the bellowing howl.

Agreed the suspension is great. But the typical 5.0 owner on here is not happy with the 4x4 stance. Even the GT350 gets critiqued for it's ride height. Some want it lower. Some don't. Regardless this car isn't perfection on wheels and still needs modding love.

Personally I love how contrasting it is to the 15-17. I feel like first gen is an analog/stripped down traditional S550. This second gen is a more mechatech refined car. Which is great for those that want it. Also, first gen is more traditional looks. Second gen doesn't look much like any mustang ever produced aside from the fastback and tail lights.

Be careful with professional photos. They are so enhanced the real deal never looks like that.
I thought it was Lightning Blue until I looked at the file name. I had really liked Deep Impact Blue, and was sad to see it go, then I saw Lightning Blue in the sunlight and wasn't so sad anymore.

What's so different on the rear? Quad tip exhaust and the line in the decklid, but what else am I missing that everyone is raving about?
Also they extended the diffuser a bit, better filling the gap.

Automatic = Irrelevant. 6r80 is nearly bullet proof and proven. I'm happy there's a 10 speed but I don't imagine many performance pack enthusiasts running out to buy the Auto version. The fact it's a 10 speed has no bearing on my purchase decisions. I only buy manual.
I think you will find a pretty big percentage of people have been waiting for PP in Auto. Those of us who's spouse doesn't do manual, but needs to be able to drive it once in a while, or those with bad knees, etc. are just the top of the list. I will now buy a S550 GT PP Auto!

When I saw the leaked photos/video (with that creamed corn color) I was very disappointed. This morning, however, I'm liking the glamour shots better. I'm looking forward to seeing one in person. I'd like to see what the analog gauges look like; I'm ambivalent on the digital cluster.

I really like those Kona Blue pics. That said, I've never seen Kona Blue in person; does it have that purple hue that DIB has in the shade (and when it's dirty)? I really don't like that. If there is less/no purple, then I'm thinking Kona might be my color. I also want to see Lightning blue.

Looking forward to HP/Torque numbers. Later this year I'll be in a position to buy and, after seeing these new pics, I'm feeling much better about the '18.

I honestly believe the 15-17's will be like the 11-12's and be a bit more of a safe/guarantee'd sale than this car when it comes time for them both to be in the used market. MY18 is a love or hate it look. I appreciate all of the performance upgrades, but is it THAT much more significant? Lets look at it:

Magnetic ride = Amazing. But the cars not low enough so, congrats you'll still be doing springs at the very least.
Exhaust = Lets be real. Headers, catless midpipe, and exhaust is in your future. Corsa quad tips need to be poking out of that valance.
Interior = Gauges don't do much for the car. If you're indifferent then okay whatever. If you like traditional analog then it won't be a reason to buy.
Dual clutch/Dual mass flywheel = DM flywheels are garbage. Big power needs a twin disk from mcleod and a solid flywheel.

I could go on. Not shitting on the car but I think people are blowing this car out of proportion. And whats worse is if you don't love the front end, it's not that significant of an upgrade. It's nothing a 15-17 can't be with a little bit of fun modding. And modding is what we buy our cars for after all.
In my opinion the gauges transform the driving experience. You stare at them so frequently when you drive it is one of the most important visual pieces of the car.

The interior will have numerous upgrades other than the gauges. the seats have been modified (at least it appears the head rests have) and the option to have red recaros is a cool option as well. I believe there will be a padded thigh support as well as some minor tweaks to chrome trim pieces and a new badge design in front of the passenger seat. Plus a new key fob design, and heated steering wheel option. If youre going to label a section interior, probably should include a majority of the changes, not just the one change that you dont like

Just because the automatic is irrelevant to you doesnt mean it is to other people. Like it or not manual sports cars are becoming a thing of the past. I think it is awesome that the performance pack can come with the automatic now.

Me since wife and I both drive it, and she can't drive a stick and I can't be bothered to teach her. We only want one car payment.

On the S197 it had a slight purple-ish look to it when not in direct sunlight; that's why I was confused about the press pic, though it was Lightning Blue.

WOW ! I am totally blown away by the technical features and horsepower increases for the 2018 model. I am not a big fan of DI, but I will learn to accept it. I never thought a Mustang GT would become so sophisticated.By the way, I love the body tweaks. I wonder how much the 10 speed auto weighs.
