For 100k+ it better be effin flawless.... that's a given.

And it's also a telltale that the Boss 302's are not worth spending a huge amount of coin.... like that yellow one albeit a rare anomaly, its hammer price still reveals its true book value. The PP ones went up high but again IMO if I'd consider a GT350 instead and for sure once the bidding goes over 50k.

Someone stole the Yellow Blaze White Boss 302, that car had been on my radar since 2012. That YB/W 302 was up in the mid 50's last auction but didn't hit reserve. Obviously, owner needed to move the vehicle and someone got a great deal.

In regards to the other modern Boss's - Strong pricing IMO. Looks like the provenance, pre-production history really added a BIG premium compared to the normal 12-13' standard or LS Boss 302 market. Those cars will continue to appreciate. Well bought, well sold.

If you do the math . . . @$67K bid goes on, add 10% buyers premium, add covered transport, add sales tax most likely and your talking nearly double the cost of a std. production LS that someone was willing to pay.

NOT BAD $! :clap2:

I am curious, with production with this lower the value or will it remain the same?
If you had an opportunity to buy a 2018, from above results, how would you order it?

Keep in mind the values are high because the cars sold there were literally like still brand new and with hardly any miles.... therefore garage ornaments. Plus these are specialty type of natiinal auctions (e.g. Mecum, Barrett, RM, etc) catering specifically to collectors and car enthusiasts unlike the typical Manheim ones. Obviously a good venue to attract buyers and extract profit as much as possible.

I'm just stating different perspectives before anyone gets their hanes all riled up. :D

Regarding the 350R's, it's just a matter of someone not willing to wait in line. 800 Rs have been made to date and another 700+ scheduled to be made. That is a high figure and doesn't justify the price in the long run.

After the cars are built at the end of 2018 MY prices will be down to around msrp or most cases less, especially when the next latest and greatest hit the lots. If it goes past 2018 the prices will tank. Yeah, I'd like my car to be worth more than what I paid for it, and it is right now, but it won't be in the relative long term. Should I dump it and make some money? Some would, and then get back in line and order another and use the profits to help pay some of the second one. I'll just hang out and enjoy the car.

That latest Mecum auction must of been full of a lot of high rollers. Couldn't believe the prices of some of those cars. One would argue that it is the market price, but....

Those bidders could of saved $20 - $30k + by checking eBay for a 350R. Those prices seem to be more realistic and still above MSRP.

I agree, high rollers and it only takes 2.
I like some of those Boss's. Is that high for a nice restored Boss? I may pounce on one before the prices get much higher.

Yup plus as you said the classic Boss 302's are nice... especially them grabber blues. At 50k or so I'd jump on one of those first before any late model Boss 302's no matter what production # it is.

I have a 2016, but can also order a 2018.
I passed on the 2017, which I think may have been a mistake.
Its 6 months before I can sell in the US. But I can leave the car wrapped
with all window stickers in place etc.
Trailer it to Florida ( Mecum) in spring of 2018 :)

By that time you'd likely see a net loss. JMO, but would be interesting to see what happens.

With all due respect I suggest that based on todays exchange rate it would be a no brainer to purchase a base 2018 R model at MSRP in Canada for ~$68,000 USF (subject to no crazy price increase).

We have been hearing about the R models coming down in price for the last year or so and obviously that is not happening and in fact I would suggest that once the general public understands that the 2018MY will be the last year of production for the R models that unfortunately ADM's will only increase based on supply and demand for the last R's available for sale in North America.

Any R model that can be bought at MSRP no matter what the MY is an outstanding deal despite being bought in the U.S. or Canada.

Good luck TR!

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm interested in seeing what happens too. I'd wager on a loss, but also wouldn't be suprised on a slight earning

Speaking of car auctions I am in the great state of Arizona and I hoping to get a ride in a couple of new generation 2016 Shelby GT350's tomorrow namely "PP002 and PP004" both of which of are GT350/GT350R's built way back in May 2015.

Interesting to note that these PP (pre production) 2016 GT350/GT350R's were built before the 2015 GT350 Anniversary cars!

Mannheim is registered dealers only - volume, wholesale - nobody cares, like cattle really. Good opportunity to pick some special cars up for not a lot of coin (if you're a dealer.)

We all remember when the pre-production R models (G0089/G0091) went to Mannheim? The Black/White one went for $83K to dealers, still a big coin over sticker. The three 2015's went for high $50's, mid $60's - steals!!

Actually, IMO and the market spoke last week . . the added value of the Boss's were how SPECIAL they were. There are plenty of 1000 mile Laguna Seca's (and even the first 10 built) who sold for mid 40's to low $50's last year. You can also just check online and see low mileage Boss LS cars in the same price realm $38-45K.

As for the old BOSS 302's - you have to really know your stuff before you think you are getting a deal at mid $40-$55K. A lot of the Boss 302's from 69/70 have had engine replacements, rust repair, structural damage, bad restorations. The nice ones have a premium.
