Going with a big bucket of nope on this thing so far. I don't mind the (minor?) changes to the back. But the fascia and headlights are ugly.

Now, maybe like when the 2015 came out, it'll grow on me, and look better in the metal. I preferred the 13/14 front-end for a while, but the 15 grew on me. But I'm not so sure. It just looks like it was thrown together for the sake of f*cking with it.

And to be honest, there was nothing wrong with the '15 look. If they kept the look, maybe given us a fascia similar to the GT350, and gave us a power bump, 10 speed auto, and suspension packages... that would have been enough. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

But I guess we'll see for sure soon enough.

And Camaro mulletheads? Come on, your car was ALREADY fugly. So the hate from the peanut gallery can be safely ignored.

That front-end is a mess. The body lines are all over the place. None of them seem to flow together. The up-close shot shows the lights don't even flow with the body lines of the panels that sit against.

The rear lights were created by a computer programmer who likes parenthesis.

I did an edit of the 18MY. Top is the whole front end narrowed a little and stretched up and down. Bottom is what was revealed today. Still looks bad but better in my opinion

Ok, now that's more like it, even with the slight Photoshop oddities. Take those silly steps out of the bottom of the headlamp lenses and maybe it'll look like a Mustang again.

I don't have the same feeling as when I first saw the S550. To me the '15 was a hit. I liked it from the beginning. If those pics are really the '18, I have no buyer's remorse. While it may not be as radical of a change as '70 to '71, I feel the same way about it. They messed with a good thing.

Aero changes?

Looks like some front end aero changes?
Hopefully these changes help with air flow in and around the quarters and hood for better cooling and less positive pressure in some areas up front.

These might be more utilitarian changes for track use.

If this gets us closer toward low cost everyman grass roots track car, then I am all for it.

I think the community would completely support a design language shift toward improved aero functionality for track use even if some design detail is redressed.
Now we need to test one at COTA on a 105F summer day... sign me up for that test please.

The grill opening looks really really wide! I like a lot of the rest though. Was hoping for smaller grill opening not bigger!
Something about the grill opening's width-to-height ratio and the body-color area surrounding the grill makes the grill look disproportionately wide, especially in light-colored mustangs like silver, white & yellow; this applies to current and '18 S550s.

A darker color tends to mask this optical effect on current versions; let's see whether this dark palette mitigation transfers to the 2018 version.
