I have another question, how was your identity verified. I have faxed over my drivers license but the dealer is asking to FaceTime. He says to make I am me. I'm guessing your identity was checked at your local branch. But I'm trying to finance through the dealer.

Alright, I got the car! That was an ordeal though.

1. Nighttime.
2. Heavy rain.
3. Strong winds.
4. Cold.
5. Lights inside of the trailer don't work.
6. Car on the upper level of the trailer, all the way in the front.

Guess who got to back it out of the trailer and onto that ramp? ME.

I have not driven a manual in over 18 months. I have never driven a GT350. Sure, let's back it out of the trailer in a storm, at night, by flashlight. Oh not all of the panels on the upper level were even, so I had a few humps to back over as well.

Got it done though. Found one blem on the car right on the left front corner. I did the fingernail test and it was fine, so I didn't hassle the guy. When I got it home, it polished right out so it wasn't a big deal. Tipped the guy $20 and he was very happy. All told we spent about 50 minutes unloading the car and I can say we took our time to be safe. I certainly didn't plan to back the car out of the trailer but that's what teamwork is all about.

The car is awesome and now I understand what people mean by the exhaust. There is such a difference between normal and sport modes. Of course I had to flick that switch twice once I got it down on the ground. Sounds fantastic!

I drove it to my house, then ran back to a school where the car was dropped off to pick up my other vehicle, then came back, adjusted all the mirrors, paired my phone and got the seat adjusted. I then took it for a whopping three mile spin in the rain, but I just wanted to drive it. The car had 9.8 miles on it when it made it here. I know the dealership took it out for a joyride, I mean gassing it up... before it got loaded up. haha. I would have too. :)

Oh and the driver stopped at a bank near my house and sent me a text saying he heard me having a little fun in the car! haha. Busted!

Bad pics but it's all I've got for tonight.

I had planned to take some pics when it was being unloaded, but since I was helping with the unload, that plan went out the window!

Chassis # H1711 - Built 08/29/16
Nice to see you finally got your car. It looks great!

My only question would be with a build date of 8/29, is it on the recall list? The cutoff build date was supposed to be 9/1. Maybe yours got it fixed since it was only a couple days from 9/1 but I'd verify.

If your car is on the recall list, the dealer should not have released it. I'm guessing you'd rather have your car than to wait for a fix which no one knows when it will be available. That said, if it is on the recall list, I'd contact the dealer. If it was not in the recall list, congrats, your's may be one of the first that was fixed prior to leaving the factory.

I checked the VIN before contacting them and it does not show an open recall. So the cutoff may have been a couple of days before or like you said, perhaps it was fixed before shipping. From it's build date to the dealer arrive, it appeared to be around the first or second week of October. I checked a car built on 8/16/16 and it was affected.

I drove it to work today - going to drive it around for a few days, then detail it before posting up any more pics.

It's a hit today at the office. :)

I put about 40 miles on the car today and it's fantastic. Even though the weather is crap and it's raining, I still got a good feel for the overall driving experience. This is an easy car to drive and very comfortable. I understand what people say about it just feeling GOOD. It feels solid and hunkered down - really love the feeling of the car. I'm still working to get the seat dialed in for my comfort but just cruising around, the car is pretty sedate. I don't think I went over 5k RPM today, but I did a variety of backroads and a quick trip up I5. Speaking of I5, thanks I5 for the road debris landing on the roof of the car. I saw it, couldn't do shit about it and BAM. I had to drive another eight miles before the next exit to check the car out in the rain. I couldn't find anything by running my hand over the roof, the trunk or the spoiler. I'll have to wait until it dries off to inspect it more carefully. If it was anything but plastic or rubber, there will be damage. I have the most ironic freakin luck. Normally the first 100 miles, my new car always get some sort of damage which is not caused by me. Then NADA. So it would appear that has held true once again. haha. Oh well, it's just a car........... cries. :)

When I left the office, I got an almost immediate text message saying that the car sounds so damn good! It really does sound good but after driving around for about 35 miles, I switched back to normal mode just to see how it compares. It still sounds alright, but normal mode is for when the cops are around.

Anyhow, here are some pics from my drive late this afternoon. I stopped by a preserve area in the "Sacramento Delta" while it was raining, so the pictures were snapped quickly. :)

Fun to drive, yes but i would not call mine easy to drive. The way it likes to tramline makes me feel I always need to pay complete attention. One rut and the car can pull hard to one side. Just be aware of that and it will be fine.

+1 My Steeda brace will be here any day now. Can't hurt to try.

I didn't notice a ton of tramline while I was driving. I noticed a little but it wasn't excessive. I've had other vehicles which would do this, so perhaps I'm a bit desensitized to it than others.

The thing I need to work on is my clutch/shifting skills. I have spent most of my life with automatic vehicles, so this will take me some time to learn. I have the Steeda clutch spring to install and I'll do that this weekend. I also have been looking at the Steeda jacking rails and the subframe brace.

My last two cars were Audi S5s, one manual, one Triptronic. I enjoyed that manual greatly, and much more than the Triptronic. So, I have a bit of experience with manuals, especially since being stationed in Europe, that's pretty much all them jokers drive over there.

But, I too am still getting used to the clutch and shifting. Can't really quick shift this to save my life. At least I'll get a day in April or May at Track Attack to work on them some more ;)

I have all 3. The Steeda spring is a no brainer. Best mod under 20 bucks
I have the Steeds brace. At first I thought it was better after installed but it still tramlines a good bit. The jacking rails are great if you don't have a lift and you need all 4 wheels off the ground. Some say the rails should be longer and BMR makes longer ones. That said, my car is very stable on the Steeda rails.

You may also want to consider a catch can. At least on the passenger side. If you plan to track it, I'd get both the passenger and driver side. I went with JLT but you can get a Ford one and there are a few other companies that make them for the GT350.

The other thing you may want to consider is a PPF for at least the bumper and hood. I had my whole front end done as I do a lot of highway driving and the PPF has already saved me multiple chips.

Thanks for the info. I have used BMR parts on several vehicles in the past and was a very early customer of theirs. I will check out their jacking rails as well.

As for catch cans, I already ordered the passenger and driver side FRP parts. They will be here next week sometime.

I'm also going to have tint, PPF and Cquartz Finest applied to the car. We think alike! :)

Here's a new pic from today since the sun is finally shining a little bit! I took it out and got it California emissions tested with 60 miles on the odometer. It passed, so that's one less thing I need to worry about.

And I found this on the floor mat package in the trunk. The date is 9/2, so perhaps that's why this car wasn't affected by the recall. Not sure though.

I like the color. I am still back and forth on the white accents on the Stripes....

Glad CA welcomed your car with such nice weather.....or not! We got a ton of rain down in Temecula, and I took the 4x4 up to 5500 feet on New Years Eve and go snowed on. CA, what a State.
