Do you get European Maps or just UK maps?
The Sync 3 Maps are now ready to be ported over the LHD cars
So will be getting mine done after Xmas

You won't need any back up, just be careful what mode you use, fastest/shortest/eco. Get some Michelin maps and don't try and put too big a chunk in your destinations.

Hope your co-driver can map read, we found some really interesting roads by using a combo of short weigh points and the map. Ended up at the start of dirt tracks a few times using 'shortest' route option

I have seen nothing on Ford's site that shows me or tells me how to change the Nav maps from the US maps my car has to UK/Europe on my Sync3 system. Do dealers in the UK have that ability now? I know that unlike MyFordTouch or regular Sync, Sync3 does not have a slot for an SD cards with maps. Is there a particular page you saw that showed this?

I know that Android Auto or Apple Carplay will take that place, but I will need to update my USB port as well as manually update my Sync3 software via other threads on this forum.

You could try asking [MENTION=7992]FordService[/MENTION]_UK on twitter for an accurate answer. They are normally quick to reply.

I thought it was just the SD card in the arm rest compartment (needs to be f5, may have upgraded to F6 now, unsure), that has the maps on it,

it is but it is round the other way for left hand drive cars :frusty:

Ask the dealer where you got your LHD from. If you have paid for the Sat Nav, then they should be able to get the UK Maps added on.
I paid for my Sat Nav knowing that in the fullness of time I would get the UK Maps and its even on my receipt

No way that works for me since my "dealer" is in the states. (No, I didn't steal the car!). Eventually I'll bring it to a local UK Ford dealer and see what it will cost me and if its possible. Golden, if you get it done at a local dealer, let me know which (PM or in this thread), it might be worth going the same place if they know how to do it.

All the Sync3 features are US only for me since it wants a US phone number to enable them... A bit of a pain.
