How do you pop the old Hub out and was the new Hub a easy install ?

Do both USB ports work ? (charging and recognizing phone )

Does the front USB port still work ? (charging and recognizing phone )

Turn off your car and let the system shut down. Then turn it back on and see if that fixes the gracenote thing. I had a similar, issue with Navigation not giving me a version after the initial reboot. I rebooted again and all was good. Oh I also checked for automatic update via wifi.

gracenote is sony's database for artists and songs, i.e it recognizes the album and provides more info on the album/song

its mostly on CD's, nowadays mp3's come with album covers and artist info digitally written in to it

Both USB ports work!

Front USB port does not

Install is easy, I used a plastic small pry tool to pop out the top side then slid the USB hub out. Unplugged the harnesses (gray power harness / rear USB harness (black) / front USB harness (gray). Reinstalled new USB hub using the power harness and black USB harness, gray USB harness was left hanging! No splicing.

Holy shit! You are a god among men.

I guess I'll be ordering that part ASAP.

Sounds like maybe the gray USB harness is the connector for the front USB port, hence it not working (I'm assuming it doesn't have power either, and it's not even lit).

I wonder ... if you ran that gray cable out / into the compartment and connected it to the 2nd USB port if it would run the front hub?

Not a big deal, heck, I think I'd rather have two in the armrest anyway.

Got the part from my local Ford dealer, Dallas warehouse has them in stock plus another dealer on EBay has them in stock.

I wish this update brought map update as well, mine says 1 14, this f150 has 2.0 with 1 15 map version

so my hub came in Part number GJ7Z19A387B. Yes you do not have your front USB any more but both in to console work. Stay tuned I am going to find a small unpowered USB hub with Mini USB female ports and a usb Mini Male cable to see if we can get all three working

Stock one

The removal is gravy just get a real small bladed scredriver and push in under the side

On the upper harness push in the tab on the side then slide it out

The new one just plug in the black USB cable and the power connector

Pops right in

Both ports work and look

the READ ME text in the download for the w/o nav only upgrade says "YOU WILL NEED A FAT32 OR EXFAT FORMATTED 4GB OR MORE USB FLASH DRIVE"
not sure how to verify what that means or if i have one...can someone please point me in the right direction?

when you buy a USB drive, its good idea to format it (deep clean) to make sure files get read properly by the sync 3. this is how you format it in FAT32:

Nobody ever responded to my comment. What happens if you do both parts of the update via a flash drive for non nav, but it says congrats you have upgraded 1.0?
